After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:

“I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled."
“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified."
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
Will you step out in faith and show God's love to an unbeliever? Jesus suffered great agony for us are you willing to suffer for Him?

I am sorry these are such heavy posts but the Spirit of God is heavy in my heart and I must speak what He is laying on me. Peace of Jesus Christ.
hi child of God:)
ReplyDeleteit really amazed me a while back when i read this same scripture. it's funny how you can be in the Word and read something over and over and over again and miss what is right of you. then suddenly, it jumps right out. it's like finding a priceless diamond. when this dawned on me, it drew me closer to our Friend.
Hi Sojourner,
ReplyDeleteCool! I also love when you read something and understand it one way and then re-read the same verse only to discover something new and then again read the same verse only yet again to be revealed a new thing!
The word is living and active revealing new things all the time. I can hardly wait to meet Jesus. I think about all the things that will be revealed to me; things from the past that He will open and unlock doors to a whole new understanding.
I am excited!
Blessings bro,

Always your sister in Christ and your friend...
Much love...
Lisa
Hi Child of God - I'm so thankful that God didn't make obtaining eternal life a complicated process. I am aware though of the GREAT price paid to make it accessible to me. Once again, THANK YOU JESUS !!!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day - hope you're enjoying Canadian spring!
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteBattling right beside you sweet girl!
Hi Vilisi,
It is so easy! Praise God! All we need to do is believe and the rest is up to Him!
Our Canadian spring is a little on the freakish side. Sun, rain, sleet, hail, snow. Then it starts all over again. Warm, then cold...so beautiful pictures just don't do it justice.
Blessings sisters,

I like you, find this profounding..it makes me speechless, we try to understand it all. YET, none of us can fully understand anything, unless we go through it ourselves.. He did it for us..His love was so great, that He took the suffering upon himself.. How can anyone turn away or not want to know Him??
ReplyDeleteMuch love Crystal
That is so awesome that He intercedes for us. Wo--
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you dear one.
Thank you for posting this! I think we all need a reminder this Easter weekend :)
ReplyDeleteCrystal Mary,
ReplyDeleteYes very profound! My thoughts exactly, how can anyone not see the truth and love Jesus. Why do people believe lies about Him? Saddens me greatly.
Hi JBR,
To think that Jesus the King intercedes for us, as my daughter says, epic, that is totally epic!
Hi Katy,
I love this prayer Jesus prays for us. I get all giggly when I think that He even said a very special prayer for future believers; that's us! :)
Blessings,

Great post Child of God,
ReplyDeleteGreater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!
I am so thankful Jesus prays for us.
Have a blessed Easter,
Ken
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to know that there is someone who knows all and is in control! To have our prayers brought to the Father, wow!
Blessed Good Friday bro,
