God Provides!

God Provides
Early this morning I was reading Kimberly's Mining for Diamonds blog. God dropped (yes dropped) me into this passage below and placed on my heart to post this as it is. May God bless and guide you as you read this wonderful promise from Jesus. He blessed my heart and renewed me this morning and opened more doors in my heart.

Peace of Christ.

Luke 12: 22-48  NIV

Do Not Worry

Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Watchfulness
“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Peter asked, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?”

God provides through His people
The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Rapture

Google Image
Come Lord Jesus, come

1Thessalonians 3:12-13 NIV
May the Lord make your love increase
and overflow for each other and for everyone else,
just as ours does for you. May he strengthen
your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy
in the presence of our God and Father when our
Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Over the past few months, my mind has been drifting to the return of Jesus. With all that is happening in the news in the Middle East and the crazy weather and the earth shaking and breaking up all over the place I am wondering, is His return soon? For a long time I believed in a pre tribulation rapture then for the past couple of years I started question my belief and started thinking there really is no Biblical proof of a rapture, after all the word rapture isn't in the Bible. This past week as I have spent time in prayer and surfing the web I found a few spots that have led me back into believing a pre tribulation rapture. Lamb and Lion Ministries gives a really good explanation of the rapture, backing it up with Biblical reference which has led me back into my original belief of Jesus rapturing His church before the tribulation. Thanks Steve from Nikon Sniper for answering my question on rapture for that really got the ball rolling in an all out search for the truth.

Taken directly from Lamb and Lion Ministries:

'So, "Rapture" is a Biblical word that comes right out of the Latin Vulgate translation of the Bible. The word is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. In the New American Standard Version, the English phrase, "caught up," is used. The same phrase is used in the King James and New International Versions.'

Google Image
I love Biblical prophesy and as I read the news I see that things are unfolding before our very eyes and I am getting very excited. Elizabeth Prata at The End Time blog has some very interesting top of the news reports that really opens your eyes to what is happening around our world right now.

We need to keep on praising God and telling people about Him and His coming back. He is standing at the door to our heart and soul knocking, will you answer and invite Him in?

Pray, God's people, pray for those who do not know our Lord. That they may come to know His love before it is too late.

Revelation 22:20-21 NIV

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

It's A GIRL!

Sundance and Mist
We have had our first baby of the year! A sweet little girl calf that my son has named Mist. She is a beautiful black Angus babe that I nearly ran over this morning with the farm truck! At -20 C our place is so icy and while we were feeding she walked in front of the truck and proceeded to slip and slide almost under the rolling wheels of the front of the truck! Thanks to our God, we have chains on the rear wheels and I was able to stop before her and I collided. With inches to spare and my son screaming from the box of the truck we stopped and watched this beautiful calf struggle to get up and run to mama.
Praise God this is a beautiful, healthy baby. Last year this same mama, Sundance, had twins and was mooning over the dead calf and refused to nurse the alive one who was named Hezekiah. Sundance was so mean to Hezekiah she was picking him up and throwing him in the air! We put mama in the squeeze so little Heze could drink and even then she managed to pick him up and toss him. We ended up forgetting about mama's milk and proceeded to bottle feed this bottomless pit of a bull calf! Seriously, Hezekiah would drink close to 4 liters of formula at one feeding. His tummy would go from sunken in to a huge round ball. My neighbour told me that we were way over feeding him and we should only give him 1 liter of formula twice a day. No way! Heze would be bawling if we gave him less than 4 litres 3 times a day. I was later told that Angus babies need more because they are bigger then other breeds of calves.

Needless to say, SOTK and I were thrilled to see that Sundance was nursing her baby and we don't need to take on mama duties. Fun, yes it is, but a whole ton of extra work.

Psalm 69:30-31 NIV
I will praise God’s name in song
   and glorify him with thanksgiving.
This will please the LORD more than an ox,
more than a bull with its horns and hooves.

Psalm 103:4-5 NIV
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Thanks Dad for the gift of life!

R-E-V-E-L-A-T-I-O-N

Google Image
Revelation 5:7-9 NIV
He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
   and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Revelation 8:2-4 NIV
And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.

Revelation 8:3-5 NIV
Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
Google Image
I have a cry in my heart that only the Lord understands. So many people suffering and I ache inside for them. Turning to Revelations I see that the prayers of the people are mixed with and ARE a bowl of incense offered up to God. The Lord hears our prayers. Keep praying and praying with all kinds of prayers and petitions to our God for He hears and will act. Praise You Lord.

Treasure Hunt

Google Image
Who doesn't like a treasure hunt? I love them. When the kids were little my husband and I would hide candies and gum in the snow at the top of the mountain. In the morning, after the kids had breakfast, we would put on the winter clothes and hike up the mountain in hopes of finding the goodies hidden in the snow. Sometimes we would make a map and they would have to figure it out or we would give them clues and riddles. What fun! Both kids would be talking the whole way up wondering what was hidden this time and all the possible places the treats could be! After the exhausting walk up we would dig and search in the snow and of course the dogs would get into the fun. Snow flying everywhere and more than once a frustrated kid getting mad at the overly anxious digging dogs. They would find their treat and skip/fall/roll down the mountain all the while talking about how much fun they had and wondering what would they would find tomorrow after making the hike up.

Google Image
Did you know that our Daddy in heaven likes treasure hunts as well? If we ask Him He will give us a map, clues, riddles and then He sends us on our hunt for the treasure of His heart; people. Here is a really cool testimony from Bethel Church where I learned, from our ex-pastor, about these hunts. The testimony tells us how two Muslims and an atheist come to Christ! Praise God!

Since last night I have really felt God leading me into a treasure hunt. This is where you get together with a small group of people and have intercessory prayer asking God who it is that He wants to touch. Then you spend a bit of time, not much, writing down the first things that come into your mind. Usually you have a list with headings for: Location, Names, Appearance, Prayer Needs, The Unusual. Then you write down the very first 5-10 words that come into your mind under the separate headings. Your team then heads out to the place or places that were given and you look for people that follow the descriptions that you have on the paper. You approach the person or persons and tell them what you are doing and ask if they are interested in finding out if they are the person God has pointed you to. If they agree then you continue with prophetic prayer and God leads you into praying for these people and healing them from ailments. It really is an awesome experience to see God touch a total stranger through your obedience to a calling God places on you.

Last year my son and daughter headed out with a team and found a lady who had drifted away from Jesus when her husband had passed away exactly one year ago to the date of this event. She was mourning and on the verge of ending her life when the team found her. She cried, knowing God loved her and knew of her pain and it touched her deeply knowing He sent this team out to reach her in this time of need. They ministered to her and she gave herself to God again and promised to go back to church and seek counseling. What a amazing experience my son and daughter had knowing that God told their team about her, watching His hand in action and feeling Him in their lives.

I love doing this but I am not a social person and really have trouble speaking to people I know and now I feel the need to approach strangers. :) Friends, God is really stretching me! Usually I am in the back ground covering in prayer the people on the front lines. I feel God leading me here to the front line, so I am going to step out of my comfort zone and try to set up a treasure hunt sometime soon. Maybe you might be interested in doing something like this, if you do please let me know how it turns out.

Job 16:19-21 NIV
  Even now my witness is in heaven;
   my advocate is on high.
 My intercessor is my friend

   as my eyes pour out tears to God;
on behalf of a man he pleads with God
as one pleads for a friend.
Blessings,

What more can I do?

Google Image
Jude 1:17-23 NIV
But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Today our pastor really pressed in on what are we doing as a church in telling people about Jesus. How many souls are we reaching for Him? This really got me pondering, really what am I doing? I have a God centered blog, I home school, I wear crosses and every now and then I will wear a t-shirt with a Bible verse on it. My family knows my beliefs, so do my very few neighbours. But really what am I doing? I am sure I could do more but what and how?

We are living in scary times. Fish dying, birds dropping from the air. Earthquakes and Tsunami's, crazy weather all over the globe. Riots happening in the middle east. I believe these are the last days and there are many unsaved souls out there. I pray and fast but I feel an urgency in my spirit and I question myself, "what am I doing to spread the truth of Jesus"? What else can I do?

I am going to bed this night with this question in my heart and on my mind. What more can I do for You Jesus?

1Thessalonians 3:11-13 NIV

Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Careful what you dream about!

My son, SOTK (son of the king), is in a major growth spurt! He is 15, 6'5 and growing up wards. This morning he came and sat down with me and proceeded to tell me the dream he had last night. "Mom, I had a very real dream last night. We all went out for dinner at a fine steak restaurant. You guys ordered steak, medium and I ordered mine medium rare. The waiter brought them to us and I dug into mine only to find out that mine was rare! Mom! I woke up with my finger in my mouth and blood everywhere!! I bit into my finger!
SOTK's bitten finger
Oh my! What to do? I guess this bottomless pit of a boy will have to have a major snack before bed time until this growth spurt slows down!

Have any of you had dreams that are so real? Are you willing to share? I once had a dream that I could fly. I believed I really flew around the house. For years and years I tried to fly only to find out that I couldn't. It wasn't until I was 18 or so that I realized it was only a dream and really, I couldn't fly!!

Blessings,

L.O.V.E. Challenge Day 14

 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Google Image

Summer, thank you for hosting this 14 Day L.O.V.E. Challenge. What a great idea! I sure do hope and pray that it lifted your beautiful spirit and I am always praying for healing for you my dear sweet sister. I hope everyone has an amazing day and my prayer is that Jesus will become the love of your life for there is none other deserving of this than He who gave up His life for us.

This Valentine's Day and every single day belong to Jesus first then my family. Since I don't post pics of my family, here are some pics of some of my animal family and the lover of my soul that mean so much to me.

Jesus my Saviour

Song of Solomon 2:8 NIV

Listen! My beloved!
   Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the mountains,
   bounding over the hills.

Revelations 22:12-21 NIV

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give
to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the
Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have
the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the
murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.
I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say,
“Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who
wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll:
If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that
person the plagues described in this scroll.
And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy,
God will take away from that person any share in
the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
   Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

God Bless,

Day 13 L.O.V.E. Challenge-Perfect Valentine's Evening

Summer's Story Link
Since January, my daughter has been in a real university and our lives as we knew it has forever changed. Because of the freedom offered by home schooling before, when we wanted to do something, we just picked up and went. Since we live 40 minutes from town, we are now up very early in the morning to make sure we can drive her to catch the 7 am bus that she takes to the university. She usually rolls in around 6:30 or 7 at night with my husband, then it is finish off the rest of her work and off to bed early. Before we use to be able to make it into town for Bible studies, prayer groups, music lessons and such but since January all of the 'during the week stuff' has stopped. But, this is reading week and she has a whole week off of school......so if Valentine's evening fell on Tuesday then the perfect evening for me would be for the whole family to get together with our Tuesday night prayer group and pray. I love being around prayer warriors, a room filled with the Holy Spirit just lifts my spirit high. But since Valentine's is on Monday....maybe....maybe I can pretend V day is on Tuesday!! :)

Google Image: Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Revelation 5:4-5 NIV
I wept and wept because no one was found
who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
Then one of the elders said to me,
“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Root of David, has triumphed.
He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Philippians 1:8-11 NIV
God can testify how I long for all of you with the
affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer:
that your love may abound more and more in knowledge
and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern
what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ
—to the glory and praise of God.

Day 12 L.O.V.E. Challenge -Something To Do on Vanentine's Day-

Summer's Challenge:

Extreme snowshoeing, (yes I love extreme sports), is something I would love to do for Valentine's Day. Maybe my kids and I will grab the snowshoes, jump in the truck and head up a mountain and hike. Oh yea, I better bring a couple of dogs!

Google Image

Shinzou Takara
Koji

Shinzou and Koji are Japanese bred Akita's. They love the snow and are wonderful for pulling a sled. Shinzou is 6 and Koji is 3, so they are both at a great age for pulling, now it is just a matter of training. :s

Isaiah 54:9-10 NIV

“To me this is like the days of Noah,
when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.
So now I have sworn not to be angry with you,
   never to rebuke you again.
Though the mountains be shaken
   and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Day 11 L.O.V.E. Challenge -Something Special-

We are getting closer to V Day! Ok, so Summer's instructions for today are....

"Post a picture of something you did that was really special for someone you LOVE during this MONTH or any month!!"

A little history first!! My family and I are not huge on giving tons of presents or doing big social things on special days as we believe every day is special. So for birthdays we don't have a big celebration but we do something with the whole family. When the kids were small we did little hikes and spent quality family time together. Now that the kids are in their teens we decided to do some major hiking. We tackled the hike to the glaciers on Joffery Lakes by Pemberton BC. Stunning, yet an easy hike. Later in the summer we hiked Mt. Begbie and Mt. Revelstoke. These are more challenging hikes but not very stunning until you reach the top, which of course I have no pictures for! :( I love to hike and when you combine it with glorifying God the experience is exhilarating.

Glacier in Joffre Lakes

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park

Joffre Lakes

Glacier Mountain that feeds Joffre Lakes
Hiking up the mountain

This was an amazing family time together to the point that my son wants to lean how to scale a mountain so we can make the complete hike up Mt. Begbie which requires an extreme 3hr hike up and then 2 hrs of face climbing. I am not sure that I am that brave but who knows if the wrists and toes are better by the early summer time I may just be posting some pics from hanging off the side of a cliff!!!!

Song of Solomon 2:13-14 NIV
  The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.”
My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
   let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
   and your face is lovely.

Hypocrite! Who Me?

Google Image
Ephesians 2:1-3 NIV

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
A hypocrite is a person who pretends to be what they are not. If Jesus Christ is our Saviour and we have accepted Him into our lives then we are children of God and we have a new identity. The old self is dead and we have a new pure self who is one with Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father by the sacrifice of the spilled blood of Jesus on the cross.
Romans 6:5-7 NIV
For if we have been united with him in a death like his,
we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the
body ruled by sin might be done away with,
that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because
anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

So when Sunday comes and we attend church we are acting like who we are supposed to be, Christians. We are truthfully being who we were made to be and are alive in Christ. But, when the week rolls around and we are not 'acting' like Christians because of where we are then we are being hypocrites. The word hypocrite is from a Greek word that means "play-actor". We are pretending to be something we are not. Our true identity is in Christ Jesus and when we forget who we are and we start living the way we were before we were saved then we become hypocrites.

Let's live a life that proves we are not hypocrites, don't let the old ways make us act like someone we are not.

Ephesians 2:4-10 NIV

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Day 10 L.O.V.E. Challenge--Valentine's Decor--

Summer's challenge for today is Valentine's Day decor. I am not the type of person that puts decorations up so if I did choose to do some decorating for V Day then it would look something like this.....

Psalm 36:5-9 NIV
Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
Loving Him,

Psalm 136:1-9 NIV

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.

His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.

His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:

His love endures forever.
to him who alone does great wonders,

His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,

His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters,

His love endures forever.
who made the great lights—

His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,

His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;

His love endures forever
