Have Jesus?

Relationship, that is what it is about.

Jesus condemned the Pharisees because they were only religious on the outside, their hearts did not follow what they preached. God is into relationships, inspirational living. He wants us to be real, to see who we really are so He can truly help us become who He made us to be. This is not something we can achieve on our own we need to come to God just as we are acknowledging Jesus Christ as God's own Son sent here to earth to pay the penalty of our sins. Seek God by reading His Word and He will change us, guarantee.

On the outside man looks ok but on the inside we all have major issues. All have sinned either big doozies of sins or minor sins like grudges, jealously and so on. God wants to make us right with Him so the void that is inside of us will be filled with His presence. That is how He created us to be, filled with Him having a relationship not fulfilling religious duties.

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ, His Son.

John 3:16-18 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

You need to:

1. Confess your sins with your mouth.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

2. Repent of your sins.
Mark 1:15
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

3. Believe in your mind, heart and spirit.
Acts 15:11
..."We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

4. Receive in your heart.
John 1:12
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

5. Declare with your mouth and tell someone.
Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

1 John 5:11-12
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

If you truly have the Son of God in your heart you will have a changed life. This is not instant but gradual as you seek God's face, and do His will He will change you. Does this mean you will not mess up or fall flat on your face? No, it means that when you do fall down you will pick yourself up, brush yourself off and keep walking towards Jesus, following in His footsteps.

So, what about a Christian who has walked away from God. One who knows what they are supposed to do but doesn't do it because of guilt, a past or present of abuse either physical or chemical, that stops them from moving forward? Well, first, you have to want to change and you do so by confessing your failure to God Himself, accept His forgiveness then find an accountability partner and tell them your confession and pledge to follow Jesus Christ and read His word. Let the Word of God change you from the inside out. Your accountability partner will help keep your on the straight and narrow.

We cannot change in our own will power, we need the Holy Spirit living inside of us to change us. Coming to God just as we are, in all of our sin, repenting and following God by reading His word and acting on it. God will change us, guaranteed.

Have questions? Email me or leave a comment, I will do what I can to help.

Hoping and praying that you take the step and become a child of God because the return of Jesus could be any day, by then it will be late to receive Him for when He returns He will not come in peace as a Lamb but bearing a sword as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

Matthew 24:42-44 NIV
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
