Matthew 28 NIV
1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
The Guards’ Report
11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
He is RISEN indeed! All Christians are commissioned to preach the Gospel and tell others of the Good News of Jesus and what He did on the cross for us. Are you active for our Lord is spreading the Gospel? I know I want to be active and I desire to tell others about Him. Let's spur each other on to do the work our Lord Jesus Christ has given us to do.
Blessings on the Resurrection Sunday.

Know the Lord and make Him known. It is so true that I cannot tell anyone about someone that I do not know. There is a contemporary Christian song that has a line: "I want to know You. I want to know You more." Mark 9:23-24 says “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” This tells me that I've got areas that the Lord is still revealing truth daily to me and I will know Him more, so that I can continue to grow and mature as a 'child of God' and make Him known. I have been rescued from sin & death by God the Father, through God the Son and indwelt by God the Holy Spirit to make a difference in this world and bring glory to the kingdom of heaven and to the King! Happy Easter (His and our Resurrection Day).
ReplyDeleteHi Brian,
DeleteI am learning that the more I know the Lord, I realize that there is so much more to know about Him and what I know about Him is very minimal. He is a deep, never ending well and the deeper you go into Him the richer and more fulfilling it is.
Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday brother!!

Thanking God today for the resurrection power that is in Jesus.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbie,
DeleteThere is power in the name of Jesus!!
I keep on asking Father to show me who I am in Jesus Christ. What authority Christians have in Him. I believe today, we just don't know what authority we have in Jesus and the authority we do know about we are not exercising it fully. He is revealing to me that we need to be fully repentant, fully obedient to His written Word and we need to be living a life of prayer.
What an awesome God we have!!
Hope you had a blessed day hon.

Hi child of God,
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful experience evangelizing and speaking to people who have not yet been born again. There are so many people out there who are ready for the planting, the watering and for God to add the increase. If I did not share the wonderful news that I myself received then I would be like a plant in a pot that has no holes in the base for the water to flow out. I would become stagnant. However, the Holy Spirit will give each one of us the gift intended for us and the ability to do that which He asks us to do. God bless.
Hi Brenda,
DeleteWhat a wonderful word picture..."I would be like a plant in a pot that has no holes in the base for the water to flow out. I would become stagnant."
Jesus tells us in Mark 16:15 "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." All Christians are committed to spread the Word, yet all are not gifted with being evangelists, but that doesn't mean we are not to spread His Word to those we meet. I personally find it very difficult to speak to people I know little own strangers. This is not my gifting but, none the less, it is still my calling as a Christian. I really am working on this, and seeking Him to get me over this major hurdle of mine.
Blessings sister,

Hi child of God,
ReplyDeleteI had to add this after reading your response to my comment. Amen to all having to spread the gospel, and because this is your heart's desire and it is according to His will then I know that He will enable you to do it in His power. Look at the wonderful ministry He has given you on line. God bless you
Hi Brenda,
DeleteThank you for encouraging me. Father enables those who seek Him and desire to do His will. He is so good to us and as time goes on I am becoming bolder when it comes to approaching people.
Thanks for sharing these words with me, they really do help.
