Swish Chard

There is just nothing like fresh veggies from the garden. My in laws arrived for a visit and we had a wonderful dinner with fresh swish chard. I scored some serious points by serving this delicious dish steamed with fresh garlic from the garden.

So my sunshine for this week is fresh swish chard and happy in laws!! :)

I'm linking up with Summer at Summer's Story for the Sunshine Project.

Isaiah 55:12-13 NIV
You will go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands.
 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree,
    and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    which will not be destroyed.”

Which Way?

Matthew 16:15-16 NIV

““But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.””

Last night my husband had a chance to speak to a friend who doesn't follow God but is into the New Age thought process of all paths lead to God. He said it was difficult to talk to him about the Truth because this man believes in all god's and all paths to him. The focus of their religion is on self happiness and it doesn't matter what you do as long as you are happy. So my husband posed a question to him of a mass murderer and is it okay for someone to kill people as long as they are happy? And, if what you are doing doesn't make me happy then what do you do? It totally stumped him and got him thinking.

There is only one way to God and eternal life with Him and that is through Jesus Christ. Who do you say Christ is?

Prayer For a Fellow Blogger

Our dear Chelle, Reformed Rebel, from Chelle's blog, has requested prayer for a heart condition that she has and has given me permission to post her request here.

...A week ago I went to the doc for my yearly check up and she told me my heart isn't beating correctly and she is sending me to a cardiologist. I think I have been living in denial since then. LOL For years I have had high blood pressure and at times my heart beats excessively fast...tachycardia. Now they are telling me that when it is beating normally it's not normal. Only beating every other time. Could have something to do with why I'm tired all the time. Anyway she doesn't like the way it sounds so August 3rd at 8:45 in the morning I am scheduled to see a cardiologist.
My dad has had 2 different bypass surgeries...my sister died of a massive heart attack and they finally revived her...my brother has had a couple of small heart attacks and strokes. So...I know that the Lord will take care of me but am still kind of nervous about all of this. Would you mind praying that everything will be good?...

Please join your heart with me in intercession for our dear blogger friend Chelle, asking God to heal her heart and set it to beating and preforming in the way it was made to work. Thanks!!

Jeremiah 17:14-18 NIV
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
    save me and I will be saved,
    for you are the one I praise.
They keep saying to me,
    “Where is the word of the Lord?
    Let it now be fulfilled!”
I have not run away from being your shepherd;
    you know I have not desired the day of despair.
    What passes my lips is open before you.
Do not be a terror to me;
    you are my refuge in the day of disaster.
Let my persecutors be put to shame,
    but keep me from shame;
let them be terrified,
    but keep me from terror.
Bring on them the day of disaster;
    destroy them with double destruction.

Psalm 107: 19-20 NIV
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
    and he saved them from their distress.
He sent forth his word and healed them;
    he rescued them from the grave.

Lifting you up friend!

Deep Cries Out

John 7:37-39 NIV
On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

John 4:13-14 NIV
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Psalm 87:5-7 NIV

Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
    “This one and that one were born in her,
    and the Most High himself will establish her.”
The Lord will write in the register of the peoples:
    “This one was born in Zion.” Selah
As they make music they will sing,
    “All my fountains are in you.”

Her scan results came back stable!! Praise God!! This new treatment is working and the cancer is not progressing. Please continue to pray for no evidence of disease. Thank you!!

God bless,

Bringing In The Hay

My sunshine for the week.

The smell of fresh cut hay is so amazing! It is the smell of summer, hot days and tough hikes in the mountains. Bringing in the hay is not really tough work but it is long, hot and you really need good weather for just over a week so you can have all the hay in the hay shed without rain. We have had a perfect wet, rainy spring and now, in about 1 week, the weather went from around 10 C to 35 C!! So, with the super hot weather around the hay was knocked down, dried and baled.

This year haying is super special to me because I was able to help! For the past 6 years I haven't been able to join in because of the RA but God is healing me and I was able to drive that tractor, lift bales and well just do the hard manual labour. Here, I am teaching my daughter how to bale the hay, she's driving and I'm snapping pics. ;P

My son and hubby are on the other tractor picking up the bales and stacking them in the hay shed. It is so nice to have kids old enough to really help out on the farm. They are strong now so they can really do some hard physical labour like pound in fence posts, string up barbed wire and now they are able to work the machines. When my son was little everything he touched he took apart. My mom reassured me that when he was old enough he would be putting everything back together and get things working. Well now is that time. :) He is so handy with the farm equipment and I am just amazed at how much he can do.

Today is Thursday and I'm linking up with Summer for the Sunshine Project. Why don't you join us and share some sunshine from your week?

Psalm 104:10-14 NIV

He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
    it flows between the mountains.
They give water to all the beasts of the field;
    the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds of the air nest by the waters;
    they sing among the branches.
He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
    the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
He makes grass grow for the cattle,
    and plants for man to cultivate—
    bringing forth food from the earth:

Updates, Prayer & Scans

Hello all!! I have a few prayer requests for Wayne and Emily. Thanks for reading and praying!! Thinking on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, we take captive the thoughts of poor scans and cancer and make them obedient to Jesus Christ and the healing power of His work on the cross.

Here is an email that I received from Chelle concerning Wayne:

Yesterday I shared the prayers all of you put in the comment section with Wayne and Marge. Last night I received this e-mail from them.

Thank you for sharing these prayers with us.  GOD is in control and HIS faithfulness never ceases to amaze us!
Wayne's appointment was at 8:15  The Lab results showed he was anemic and his platelet count too low to have an infusion.  He wound up having a blood transfusion so we were still there for over 5 hours.  They warned us of all the possible problems to watch for.  So far all is well.  The two nurses who administered the transfusion are Christians, who were so encouraging and shared testimonies of GOD'S healing touch and new strength one day at a time.
Wayne will not have another infusion until July 30th giving his body a rest.  The oncologist explained more about the PET scan results.  When we read the report it did not   look very encouraging.  GOD clearly is asking "Whose report are you going to believe?"
We saw him failing right before our eyes, his color was gray/ashen, so very weak and could only lay down and wanted to sleep.  Faith is believing, even though that is not what our eyes see.
That all shared, we continue ask for prayer, knowing they work!

I also posted this on my blog again. I believe the more prayer the better!

Blessings...Chelle

Thank you Chelle for keeping us so well informed on how Wayne is doing. Please continue to pray for Wayne as he is going through lows of chemo therapy. Press in for healing here on earth. Even though the PET scan results were not encouraging, it is God we are looking to and sometimes God is doing something totally different than what the scans show. I really do believe the words we speak tied in with Bible verses can change the atmosphere around us. Cancer is evil so lets continue to rebuke this disease and pray for total healing here on earth.

Emily Hubbel,
Emily is having scans today, tomorrow and coming back home on Friday. So far Emily has not had a NED result. She is on a clinical trial as the cancer that is afflicting her did not respond to the normal treatment. Please pray for these results to show that this chemo therapy is working. Seek NED!! (No Evidence of Disease).

This is a picture of Emily on her way to meet up with Wings of Mercy and then a 3 hr flight to Michigan. What a precious little 5 year old she is.

Praying for you Emily!!

Mark 11:22-25 NIV
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Father,
I believe Your Word to be truth. So as I pray in alignment with Mark 11:22-25, I ask for the mountain of cancer to be cast into the sea and removed from Wayne and Emily's body. I believe in my heart that You will do this and I do not doubt. Father, I ask You bring to my mind any thing I may be holding against anyone and I ask you to forgive me as I forgive them. Lord, I cover Wayne and Emily in the healing blood of Jesus Christ and pray 100% health here on earth for these dear, precious children of God. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray amen.

Master Commander

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.

This is so profound!

We think, therefore we believe we think like God. We think we understand God and know why He does things in the way that He does. Life moves along smoothly and we believe we have it all figured out and then sickness comes in or financial issues hit us. We check ourselves and see that everything seems to be in alignment and we are following in His footsteps and we question God, "Why LORD?" He returns us His silence.
God has a plan, a master design and we don't really know what it is. His thoughts and ways are far beyond ours and for this I am so very thankful for His is trustworthy. Even if I don't understand the why's I do know that He is fully capable to lead and direct my life because He knows the ending and by reading His Word, the ending sounds pretty good to me.

I'm linking up with Barbie, Fresh Brewed Sunday.

Have a wonderful Sunday and please, keep praying for Lucy!

Update on Lucy

It appears that Lucy has relapsed and Lucy will be having brain surgery in one and a half weeks. Here is a little snippet from Kate's blog:

What's interesting is that it's not the area that Atlanta said it was. Our team thinks that its a totally different issue that we will have to figure out. Instead, there appears to be areas of leptomeningeal disease. The consensus is that it's a small area and does not seem to be aggressive.

(Leptomeningeal disease)

Depending on the out come of the surgery, Lucy will be under going another type of chemo therapy. Please continue to pray for Lucy and for her family.

I am so thankful for the doctors at St. Jude's. They are aggressively treating Lucy and doing everything they can to give this sweet girl a good quality life.

Psalm 63 NIV

O God, you are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
    my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
    where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you;
    your right hand upholds me.
They who seek my life will be destroyed;
    they will go down to the depths of the earth.
They will be given over to the sword
    and become food for jackals.
But the king will rejoice in God;
    all who swear by God’s name will praise him,
    while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

Romans 8:28 NIV
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Today's Sunshine

The sunshine for this week is cows in amongst summer flowers. I just love this! On my run today, there were cows in this field of daisy's. Every year my neighbour turns out his cows to graze and every year my breath is taken away by the sight.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Please keep Lucy in your prayers. Thank you!!

Lucy

Please pray for Lucy as she had a seizure and is on her way to St. Jude's. The aggressive rehab is stopped, a MRI was taken and the results will be given on July 5th. Please pray for no tumour growth. Pray for Kate and Erik as this is very stressful on them and their nerves are frazzled. Thanks!!

Psalm 30:1-3 NIV

I will exalt you, O Lord,
    for you lifted me out of the depths
    and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O Lord my God, I called to you for help
    and you healed me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;
    you spared me from going down into the pit.
