Pray for Shinzou Takara

I have a different request today, prayer for my dog Shinzou Takara. Yesterday he was listless and by last night he was hot, not eating or drinking. Since he has an ongoing issue with kidney infection, we gave him some antibiotics and waited to see how he was doing this morning. This morning he is the same as last night so my hubby brought him into the vet. I have a funny suspicion that he has poisoning either from some bad meat he ate or the neighbours poison set out for coyotes. He is a loved family member and it is very sad to see him suffering so much.
There is a story behind his name, Shinzou Takara which means God's gift, treasure. It is a Japanese name given to him because he is a Japanese Akita. My husband really wanted an Akita for as long as we have been married, since he had one as a kid, but we always got our dogs from the humane society as I couldn't see buying a dog when there are so many without homes. Seven years ago my husband said to me there were Akita pups for sale and he wanted to pick one up. Usually you have to be on a list for over a year to get one of these pups, so our family got together and prayed asking God if it was His will for us to get a pup then  please let everything work out. A phone call was made and the breeder told us that there were two pups from the litter for sale as the people wanting these pups just back out. We made the 3 hr drive out to the farm saw Shinzou and fell in love. We brought him home and again prayed asking God for a name and came up with Shinzou Takara and this name over the years has lengthen to Shinzou Takara rawhide pee a paw pawsy papa pup.

Psalm 36:5-7 NIV
Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Proverbs 12:10 NIV
The righteous care for the needs of their animals,
but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.

Thank you!!

Blessings,

  1. Wow-that's quite the name. He is a beauty! I will be praying for him, and am so sorry that he's feeling bad.

If you could pray for Buster (the boxer)too, that would be appreciated. He is very old for a boxer, and is losing his senses. He has been accidentally run over by a truck twice because no one knew he was under and he wouldn't move even when the truck started up. Thankfully it wasn't a major injury, but he's still acting strange.

    Blessings!

  2. Hi Kaboom,
Thanks!! He is a sweetie and he loves little girls. When there is a little one around here Shinzou will circle and circle her protecting her from any dangers.

I will pray for Buster too! Poor fellow. Maybe he is deaf, I have a deaf dog that doesn't move when a car is around. I am glad to hear that his accidents were not serious.

    Thanks again,

  5. Aww...sounds like a sweet dog! One of the other dogs does the same with me. He has attacked other dogs who have come around me!

I don't think he is deaf, I mean he comes when we call. It's a mystery!

  6. Hi Susan,
Thank you! He is a wonderful family pet and I really trained him to not be viscous around non family members. We have another Akita, Koji, my brother in laws dog and he didn't train her to be good around non family members so I really have to watch her around visitors and kids. Oh well it was either us taking her or she would have been put down for biting people. :s

    Hi Vilisi,
Thank you he is very special.

    Hi Kaboom,
He is very sweet. Maybe Buster has selective hearing. :) Older people have this so maybe??? ;P

  9. Hi Child of God,
It's good that you know what the trouble is with him. I said a prayer for your sweet boy Shinzou.
Thanks for sharing those scriptures, I had forgotten them.
It's funny how much we love our dogs and I know they love us too.
I never baby-talked to my girls when they were little, but I baby-talk to my dogs and give them silly names too! Go figure.
    Blessings & Peace In Jesus

  12. Hi Mary,
Thank you, he is very special. Since we have never raised a puppy before him, his relationship towards us is totally different from our SPCA dogs.

    Hi Never Forsaken,
Thank you, it is funny how we treat animals. :) I never talked baby talk to my kids either but with the animals they receive silly talking and funny add on names.

    Hi Ken,
Thank you, there are not many scriptures with animals in it but these ones are perfect!

    Hi Barbie,
Thank you, I stand in agreement with you complete healing.

  13. Good Morning, dear Child of God,
I have just seen this post about your dear Akita dog.
Of course, I'll be praying to the Lord very hard for his prompt recovery and full healings. You know I love dogs, horses, cats, all animals. I am an animal's advocate, an animal lover. Your Akita is so very beautiful. How old is your dog?? I wonder. Your story touched my heart in a special way. I love reading stories about our dear animals in God's Creations. Please, let us know the updates about your Akita dog. God bless you, all your beloved ones, including your Akita dog!! S. Takara is a name difficult for me to remember...
Your hubby made a wise decision to drive him to the Vet's Clinic.
    Blessings and All the Best,

  14. Hi Starry Dawn,
Shinzou is 7 years old and has just come into maturity. He is a big boy and weighs in around 110 lbs or more. He is the biggest, snuggliest, sweetest dog ever and he totally loves kids. It is so funny to watch him around a little girl, like around 3 or so. He will circle her as she walks or plays and will protect her from going somewhere dangerous, like towards the horses. When she stops moving he will gently lean up against her, guarding and protecting her.
The story I heard about Akitas was that parents would go to work int he rice fields and leave the Akita at home to watch the kids. The dog would not let the kids wander to far from home by circling them and gently pushing them back into the home boundaries. They are bear dogs and can take down a full grown bear.
I never really believed this story until I saw Shinzou in action. He totally protects kids and he is especially fond of little girls. :)

    Blessings,
    <><
