Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
Spiritual warfare is real and could be one of the reasons why our prayers take so long to be answered. When we humble ourselves by repenting, fasting and praying be rest assured that God does hear and He will answer our prayers.
Pray until you get an answer.

What a powerful reminder.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful He hears me when I call on Him earnestly, fervently, sincerely, whole-heartedly.
Striving to never stop. Thank you!
Hi Nikki,
DeleteI'm with you on that, striving to never stop.

It's hard to persevere in prayer some times. When I was a baby Christian, someone once told me to P-U-S-H, Pray Until Something Happens!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbie,
DeleteI think I have seen a wrist band like that...good saying!

Wo---- thank you for the reminder. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi JBR,
DeleteYour welcome girl, it sure can be easy to forget sometimes.

We can certainly look at Daniel and learn a lot about prayer and praying. He was not afraid and not ashamed to pray. He truly was a man of integrity.

Joan
Hi Joan,
DeleteDaniel was not a coward. I love reading about him, I learn so much about how to stand alone. Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you for your kind encouragement on my post today. I agree that Jesus taught us to persist in our prayers, Luke 18.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth,
DeleteYou are welcome. :) Jesus did tell us to pray and knock until we get an answer.
Thank you for stopping by.

Funny how I can look at a passage over and over, then suddenly find a "Gem" that was sitting in front of my face in that same verse. These words shouted out at me from the Holy Spirit : "Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard." Have I truly set my mind to gain understanding? Have I truly humbled myself before my God? I know that the Lord timely reveals truths that He wants us to see in His timing of our growth and maturing in our walk. I think that now it is time for me to take a good, hard look at myself. As a child of God, we need to recognize the spiritual warfare going on around us, but we must also make sure that we are not our own worse enemy. Thanks for the "gem" and the thought=provoking post.
ReplyDeleteHi Brian,
DeleteI love when that happens!! I glad a gem jumped out at you. :)
I agree that we need to look at ourselves to see if we are the problem. Are we giving Satan a foothold but something we are doing?
Something I am learning from Scripture is that one person totally repentant and humbled in front of God, can move mountains.
Thanks for sharing with me how the Holy Spirit spoke to you, I think that is awesome!

We can indeed be our own worst enemy, i.e. through ignorance of what the Bible teaches regarding the battle we are involved in and what we should be wearing as per Ephesians 6.
DeleteHi Wendy,
DeleteI agree with you, it is the little things that make the dam wall break.
