Walk in the Spirit

Galatians 5:16 NIV
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Our flesh fights with the Spirit and we are not to do as our flesh desires but what the Spirit desires. The Spirit of God calls us to love, joy and peace. When we make ourselves focus on the fruit of the Spirit then we will start walking by the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

I'm linking up with Barbie for Fresh Brewed Sundays.

  1. Visiting from Fresh Brewed Sundays...

Your image is so relaxing. It makes me want to grab a latte, curl up on a covered porch and listen to the silence.

    Beautiful...

    1. Hi Barbie,
The yielding to His Spirit can be hard especially when there are strong holds. But He is faithful and will see us through if we continue to seek and rely on His ways.

Blessings and thanks for hosting Fresh Brewed Sundays. I love this link up. :)

  5. Hi Child of God,
Walking in the Spirit sure is much better than walking in the flesh. Jesus said, "if you abide in me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit." I want more and more of that Spiritual fruit in my life, but it sure is a battle with the flesh, isn't it? I am always inspired when I visit your blog. I appreciate your heart for intercessory prayer and God. Thank you for sharing and God bless,
    Ken

    1. Hi Ken,
I agree with you that denying the flesh is hard but walking in the Spirit is so peaceful and joyful it makes the hard work of denying flesh so worth while. Thank you for giving me such a nice compliment. :) It is wonderful we can learn from each other, I too am inspired by your posts.

      Blessings,

  6. Wonderful message Child of God! Here in the US there has been such an abundance of everything and we receive endless messages from the media, television and the movies to consume, enjoy...and give into every desire.

God has been dealing with me about this my entire life...challenging me about this culture with His ways...and far longer than I'd wish to admit...I'm finally beginning to understand.

Thank you for sharing this message! God Bless!!

    1. Hi Jephyr,
Don't you just love how God knocks and knocks till we finally get it? :)

God has called His children to be apart from the ways of the world. It is a tough calling especially now with all the media waves every where we look. But, the rewards are well worth it, giving up the now for the tomorrow.

Glad you reaped from this message.

      Blessings,
