Joy is Found in Suffering

Matthew 5:3-12 NIV
He said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
   for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
   for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
   for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

God allows bad things to happen so lessons can be learned or so people will come to know Him. I have been really spending time praying for Tripp and Quinn. "EB"ing a Mommy Tripp's blog and Quinn's CaringBridge site, (which in order to read you need to set up an account which is free), tell the story of two very brave, strong and very young souls who have known nothing but pain and suffering their whole lives. I would encourage you to head over and read their blogs to see the joy in the Lord that these parents have found while caring for their very sick young children. I cannot imagine the pain Tripp and Quinn go through every single minute of their lives, yet through it all God is there and people are coming to know Him through witnessing these children suffer and reading about the faith in God these parents have. These testimonies are strong, they are filled with God's presence.

Parents are cherishing their healthy children and people are being thankful for their lot in life when they read stories like these. Many people are lifting Tripp and Quinn, and other children like these, up to our Lord for relief and comfort. I believe these children are resting in the arms of Jesus Christ and He is ministering to them in ways that we cannot see or understand.

Please pray for Quinn and Tripp as right now Quinn is not doing well after her stem cell transplant and Tripp is in such a mess that Courtney just can't believe Tripp is still fighting to stay alive.

God bless and thank you!

  3. So sad and yet I must share something with you. I once met a woman who had been taken to Heaven. She said she was very sick and died, but came back. She had much to say about it but also she said that a lot was kept from her memory. One thing she did know. She had met a little child in Heaven and that little one was to become her daughter. This woman said she didn't expect to have any more children so it was a surprise to learn this. It was four years before it happened. She also said we choose who our parents will be while we are still in Heaven. We know before we get here, if we will live a long or short life. We also know if we will suffer here. This is not reincarnation! Now when I thought about all this, I wondered. I believe there is so much we don't know and can't possibly know.I pray for Tripp and Quin. They are special.

  4. Hi Crystal Mary,

What an encouraging story to read.

Courtney, Tripp's mom, shared a story, on one of her recent posts, that a friend sent her. This poem goes on to say this little boy was looking down at earth and saw all the pain and suffering going on and He said to God that he wanted to spread love to these people and draw them together. God told him that would take a very special boy to do this because he would have to endure great suffering in order for people to come together in love. So, the boy thought and thought about it and said to God I will do this. God told him that he would be in huge amounts of pain every single minute of his life. The boy said but if I don't do this this people will be miserable and never get to heaven. God agreed and told the boy that He Himself would be with him every day giving him strength.

Now, I know I didn't get this story correct but it goes something like that. Anyway, Courtney is holding on to this story because it helps her get through each and every day knowing that because of Tripp, many people are gathering together in love, praying and realizing that their lives are not that bad at all. People are coming to know God and accept salvation because of children like these.

It is amazing and so humbling to read about these children that suffer with a smile on their faces.

Thanks for sharing your story, it would be so cool to know that our children chose us as their parents. Sure does help to make it through those rough stretches.

    Blessings sister,

  6. Hi Katy,
Thanks for sharing that. :)It's amazing how praying for and walking with these children who are sick can bring the focus towards appreciation of our healthy children.

Since you have been following Tripp's story then you must know that Courtney really wanted to have this stem cell transplant done on Tripp but the doctor's refused because Tripp is just too sick to handle it. Quinn had this replacement done and she was in a healthier state that Tripp and she is now suffering from all kinds of complications. Poor sweet girl is having airway issues, big time.

Blessings Katy give a snuggle to your adorable son.

  12. Yes! In Him we find our peace and joy..if life was all gravy all the time then we might be foolish enough to forget and think we are okay on our own way. I will take a look at their page and lift them up to our Heavenly Father :) God bless you heaps, Daisy
