A Few Animal Pictures

Here are a few more pics of the babies. Yesterday I went and took 500 pictures of our farm and wanted to share some today, but the battery charger for the camera is broken and I cannot download the pics onto my computer, so I decided to dig up a few from the winter and share.

 Genesis 1:24-25 NIV

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 2:19-20 NIV

Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

I am so thankful that God created animals! I love them so much. The amount of joy they bring far outweighs the amount of work that comes along with them. All animals have healing capabilities; anger diminishes when the sound of a purring cat, the brush of soft silky fur and the warmth of a small bundle curls up on your lap or how hatred flees when you are greeted by the wagging of a tail and eager paws shifting to and fro in the anticipation of a scratch behind the ears. What about how jealousy will lose it's grasp on you when you take a brush and run it down the neck of a horse and see this huge animal warm up to your touch and look forward to the next stroke, and knowing that you will soon jump on the back of this animal and he will allow you to work with him in an enjoyable ride; that is accomplishment. How can jealously stay when you are able to work with an animal?

God sure knew what He was doing when He created animals. They may not be the perfect help mate, like a husband or a wife, but they sure do know how to make someone feel loved.

Blessings,

  2. Hi Summer,
My niece raised bunnies and she said they were amazing pets to have. I just love Hop, and if a dog isn't in the picture right now a bunny will do the trick! :)

Shadow Fox is one of my untrained horses. He is such a character because he knows how to open gates. One time we had a helper putting up some fences and Shadow picked up his hammer and took off with it, bucking and prancing. Gerry so wished he had a camera with him but of course all of the best pictures are when there isn't one in sight!

Hugs and thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi Summer,
Yea, Shadow is a blast! He also use to come up behind Gerry and take his hat! Gerry would always come by the house and tell me what Shadow was up to that day. I have blonde hair, and I guess Shadow thinks my hair is hay or straw for if I am bent over doing something, Shadow will come up behind me and nuzzle my neck and then proceed to chew on my hair!!!

Sweet your cats tolerate Hops. Isn't that just a cat thing? To tolerate, hahaha!

    Hugs,

  5. I love your animal pictures, as well as the words on this post.

Yes, I do love animals too. And it is amazing how they give us unconditional love and bring healing into our lives!

Your cats fur are so silky... and is that dog in the picture a Lab? Shadow Fox looks like a wonderful horse!... I also have a dog (a half Basset hound-half dachshund!) named Sammy, short for Samantha.

    Thanks for sharing these pics!

    Love

  6. Hi Lidj,

My cats fur are so silky because they never go outside. I use to let the cats out but have lost too many to owls, coyotes and eagles. These guys are indoor cats and spoiled rotten.

The dog, Beauty, is a black lab cross pit bull. I saved her from the humane society, she was next on the list to be put down. I have done that many times, take the dog that is dangerous and give them a home. It took Beauty over 1 year to settle down but now she is so faithful and I believe she would die for any member of my family.

You dog Samantha sounds like a great mix! Our distant neighbours have basset hounds and I just love how they bay!

    Blessings,
