Hello God,
I called tonight
To talk a little while
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial.
You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep
My family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
For whatever fate they're bound.
Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in anyway.
I thank you God for being home
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall.
Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.
So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!
The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
and a meadowlark sang.

But, the man did not hear. So the man yelled,
"God, speak to me"
and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said,
"God let me see you." And a star shined brightly.

But the man did not see. And, the man shouted,
"God show me a miracle."
And, a life was born.

But, the man did not notice. So, the man cried out in despair,
"Touch me God, and let me know You are here."
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.

But, the man brushed the butterfly away
and walked on.
I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little
and simple things that we take for granted...even in our electronic age...
so I would like to add one more:
The man cried,
"God, I need your help!"
And an e-mail arrived reaching out
with good news and encouragement.

But, the man deleted it and continued crying...
Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.
1 Peter 2:6-8 NIV
For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”and,
has become the cornerstone,”and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.”
and a rock that makes them fall.”
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.

I LOVE this...too often we overlook God's "speaking" to us as something else. I'll definitely start taking a few extra minutes to notice everything around me and see what God is using to talk to me :)
ReplyDeleteI love this. I may repost it. I started crying.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Hi Katy and Emily,
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about it, God is the Creator of all, so it makes sense that He would use His creation to talk to us. I guess the dangerous part here is that we need to keep our focus on worshiping Him and not the creation.
Blessings,
<><
Hi Child of God-
ReplyDeleteThis was a rich blessing. It is a great reminder for us who love our Lord.
Thank you so much for this deeply meaningful message.
Hi Child of God, love your post today. We have an Awesome God ! !
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra and Mary,
ReplyDeleteYou know, the more I learn about God the more I am in love with Him and just awed at how He reaches out to communicate His love to us.
He really is awesome!
Blessings sisters,

I love this Child of God. As I was reading I was thinking about all the people who say "there is no evidence for God." I pray the Lord open their eyes to see. But also us as believers, sometimes we think He is absent when infact He is right there. It is us who does not see Him.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Ken
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so true? Just the other night I was feeling sorry for myself and God revealed Himself to me in such a way that I became overwhelmed in His love and awed at His majesty.
If only we would look and pay attention we would see.
Blessings,
<><
