Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNE!!

On January 11 2011 38 yr old Joanne at The Simple Wife suffered a major stroke. Through prayers and amazing doctors God is healing Joanne and she is well on her way to recovery! PRAISE GOD!
My cross

Today is Joanne's 39th birthday and in celebration of this day of her birth, Janna made a beautiful collage of Joanne's favourite piece of jewelry; charm bracelets. The request was if you wanted to send in an email with a pic of your charm bracelet or necklace.

Since I don't own a charm bracelet I sent in a pic of my necklace that I wear 24/7. It has a story and is a piece of heritage from my grandma. When I was in my early teens, my grandma decided to give all of her grandchildren their inheritance before she died, she was somewhere around 80 years old. So she took me and my sister to a jewelry shop and asked us to pick something out. I was so upset and very reluctant to do this as I thought that if I picked out a piece of jewelry, then grandma was going to die right away. She encouraged me and I choose this cross and prayed and prayed and asked God not to take my grandma home for I just loved her so much and didn't want to loose her. I remember going home and crying on my mom's shoulder saying over and over again I don't want grandma to die!! Well God answered my prayer and my grandma lived to be a ripe old age of 98 3/4!! Healthy, strong and on her own almost to the very end of her life. She was an amazing woman who prayed blessings into her grandchildren and their children and so on. She asked God for Spiritual blessings for her heritage. What a strong woman of Christ she was!

Joanne, I love your strength in the Lord and reading over your older blog posts I see that you are an amazing women and I can understand why Toben loves you so much. I hope and pray you have an amazing birthday and I praise God for creating you and allowing me to come into your life and to have the honour of praying for you.  I just know one day soon you will be up, walking and running around making your beautiful charm bracelet jingle and jangle! Praising God for you!

Psalm 139:13-18 NIV

For you created my inmost being;
   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
   when I was made in the secret place,
   when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
   all the days ordained for me were written in your book
   before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
   How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
   they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

God bless you Joanne, my sister in Christ. I am praying and praying along with so many other people for 100% recovery from this stroke.

  9. By the way, my grandma lived to be 100, healthy and strong til the end. I believe she chose her time to leave and she died one of the most beautiful deaths I've ever heard of. I'll have to blog about it one day. Sounds like you had a special relationship with your sweet grandma. Grandmas are great.

  10. Hi Lon,
    I stand in agreement with you, 100% healing for Joanne. Amen and amen.

    Hi Crystal Mary,
    You are so sweet to say that maybe my prayer was the reason she stayed around, could be but I know nobody wanted grandma to die. She is a beautiful woman, people were drawn to her.

    Hi Kimberly,
    Your grandma made 100 years healthy and strong!! WooT!! I hope you do blog about your grandma I would love to read it.
    My grandma was the nicest lady to all. When she looked at you her eyes shined and you thought she had love only for you but she looked at everyone that way.
    One thing I love about Grandma would be her kisses. She insisted on kissing all her grandchildren on the lips! Being a teenager I would want to turn my head just as she would kiss me and she always caught me in time and snaged me onthe lips! She ended up grabbing my face with both hands and pulling me down to her and then proceed to plant on right on the kisser! Who can argue with such a powerful woman.

    Blessings,
