Spring Pictures

 Job 29:22-24 NIV

After I had spoken, they spoke no more;
   my words fell gently on their ears.
They waited for me as for showers
   and drank in my words as the spring rain.
When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it;
   the light of my face was precious to them

Cherry Blossoms

Copper

Limper
John
Star

Mountain side

Limper and Copper are our very first cows that we ever had, they are also the two last cows that need to give birth to babies. Last year we had to bottle feed Copper's baby as her milk bag split and the baby refused to drink. Hopefully we will not have this problem or any problem this year. So far we have only lost two babies and have had no bottle feeding to do!

Star and John are two of our 12 horses that get to roam near the house because they were the skinniest of all the horses coming out of the winter and into the spring. John acquired lice, yuck, and he lost almost all of his hair. Seriously he looked like one of those hairless cats but worse because he was a hairless horse! He is feeling much better and quite spry for an older horse of 25. Star is a persnickety horse and no one likes to ride him. John on the other hand, is the very best horse ever! Everyone wants to take him out for a ride. He is smooth, fast, tall and has a real sweet nature. I was very sad to see him feeling so sick and was a bit concerned that we were going to lose him, but he has turned around and is frolicking like a yearling! So cute to see the two of these guys bucking and rearing.

Hosea 6:2-3 NIV

After two days he will revive us;
   on the third day he will restore us,
   that we may live in his presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
   let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
   he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
   like the spring rains that water the earth.”

James 5:6-8 NIV

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

Blessings,
<><

  1. Oh, I love those scriptures and the pictures! How gorgeous! <3

    I love that very last scripture the best.. "Be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near."

    What a blessing you are!

  2. Dear friend, these photos are beautiful, and more so are the words you wrote. I am happy your cows and horses are turning out to be okay, and I am sure that spring will do them a lot of good.

    You do give them a lot of special touch, and love whispers... so they should be gaining weight, and growing back the hair they lost.

    Thank you for the Scripture passages you posted together with your spring write up.

    Blessings on your day, dear friend.

    Love
    Lidj

  3. I love the story you told in the comments Summer's blog - the one about the car accident. VERY cool story. Sometimes we don't get to see the big picture. We follow some of the same blogs, and you always leave sweet comments! :o)

  6. Pets are so precious. I grew up on a small farm and learned to milk cows very early. All animals have their own personalities. They are also very special. Your verses are well chosen and thoughtful. Gods blessings be with you. Much love Cm xx

  7. Those are great pictures. You live in a beautiful area. I always said I would love to live in PA or somewhere where there are animals and farms.

  8. Praise God for having healthy mommy & baby cows! I visited a farm for a week once and we had to bottle feed some of the animals-it was hard work!

    And I tried really hard not to laugh, but when you said to imagine a hairless cat-but worse, a hairless horse...well I feel really bad for him, but I just laughed! It is the funniest picture I've had in my head in a long time! I'm glad he's doing much better now and has his hair :)

  9. Hi Emily,
    Thank you! We need to be patient and I believe Jesus is coming soon! :)

    Hi Lidj,
    It is nice to see all of the older skinny animals from winter fatten up with the spring grass. It is amazing to watch an animal respond to love, very much like a person they just warm up to and flourish.

    Hi Valerie,
    You know when my son and I realized why we were delayed we just started praising Jesus because we knew it was His hand on us preventing us from being at that spot.
    Thank you for your compliment on my comments. I am at a loss for words. :)

    Hi Ken,
    I just read yesterday that the US has pressured Israel into signing the peace treaty with Palestine. I don't think this is rumor, check it out..

    Hi Ma,
    Spring is such a beautiful time of new birth and life! And it smells fantastic, you can't bottle that smell.

    Hi Crystal Mary,
    What a gift you had, growing up on a farm and milking cows!
    Talk about different personalities in animals, wow! Every single one of our animals are so very different there is not one alike. God created every person different and every animal different. He is so awesome!

    Hi Erin,
    PA is so beautiful. When I lived in eastern Canada I use to drive a transport truck and one of the States that I headed into was PA. I thought, wow, I sure do want to live in the mountains one day. And here I am! :)

    Hi Katy,
    Bottle feeding cows can be hard work but, like I am sure you discovered, very rewarding.
    John DID look very funny and very scary! I never took a picture because I really didn't want to have to look at him. He sure did look like a hairless cat, yuck!

    God bless to you all!

  10. Hi Child of God,
    Thank you for the link to the news story. I recently learned of a book by Bill Koenig called "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel." He points out major catastrophes occur at the same time as our presidents pressure Israel to divide her promised land. I learned of this from a ministry I respect and considering it being the next book I read. I just thought you might be interested.
    Here is a link to Amazon for the book.

  11. Hi Ken,
    This book looks like a very interesting read, thank you for telling me about it. I will look into purchasing it.

    The Bible tells us that there will be consequences for those who do not support Israel and blessings for those who do. I am very interested in how prophecy is unfolding and linking today's events with the Bible.

    Blessings bro,

  12. I love your animal stories, Child of God! Lovely to see pics of your animals too. Poor John... but that's great that he has recovered so well.
    Many blessings to you and yours!

  13. Hi Child of God,
    I come into your site this day and find your spectacular pictures with your beautiful animals. Praise the Lord!! You have a special gift to approach others when you write and communicate with the world. Your readers love you, I am sure. God loves you too!! I hope and pray your dear animals stay well. They bring company, joy, unconditional love and happiness into our lives. Animals are treasures, and God's gifts to us. I have just left a new comment in your previous post about my poetry. Of course, I shall soon write a new poem with an opening sentence with your suggestion, and I'll dedicate it to you, sweet Child of God. It'll take me a few days until I'll post it in my inspirational blog, "Find the way in your life." I am thinking of you, sister in the Lord. God keeps blessing you!!
    In God's Garden,
    Poet Starry Dawn.

  14. Hi Vilisi,

    I am glad you enjoy my animal stories, I wish I was better at weaving a tale because I do have a lot of stories to share. I will keep trying. :)

    Hi Starry Dawn,

    I am glad you think I can communicate my ideas! I really do struggle here so it is nice to know what I say makes sense. This is the hand of God, not me.

    I love animals so much, they bring me lots of joy. Outside one of my windows I have 2 bird feeders and 2 hummingbird feeders. I can sit and watch these wild creatures of God for hours and revel in His majesty and awesomeness. I plan on taking some pictures but my charger for the camera is broken so that will have to wait until it has been replaced.

    Thank you again for thinking of dedicating a poem to me. :) You are very sweet and generous.

    Blessings sisters,
