Romans 12:12 ESVRejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
September is cancer awareness month, and September 26 is
Mesothelioma Cancer Awareness Day.
Mesothelioma is a
rare cancer that can be brought on by exposure to asbestos and it is 100%
PREVENTABLE!
Mesothelioma: a cancer of mesothelial tissue, associated especially with exposure to
asbestos.
Doctors understand that exposure to asbestos cause cancerous
cells to grow in the lining of the lungs, abdomen or heart. Even though treated
with chemotherapy, radiation therapy or in some cases surgery, mesothelioma has
a poor prognosis. Having this understanding and knowledge the best offense is a
good defense and that is awareness.
There are only about 3,000 people a year diagnosed in the
United States and with this minimum it is difficult to run the type of research
needed to determine the best therapy needed to fight each stage of growth. Spreading
awareness is key in advancing research and subsequently a cure.

This cancer is more common in men over the age of 60 who
have been working in jobs linked with asbestos, but there are women and
children who have secondary exposure to asbestos which has been carried on the
clothing or body of the working men.
Mesothelioma is difficult to identify as the indicators look
a lot like other respiratory disorders which include chest pain, chronic cough,
discharges of the chest and abdomen and the presence of blood in lung fluid.

asbestos and if you are working with this deadly substance, or know someone who

I truly believe one should never give up hope, and what better hope one can have when it's in the Lord.

Thanks for sharing, and God bless,

Hi Lon,
DeleteWhat a perfect verse to go with this post. Our hope is in Jesus!
My pastor is going through a series which is showing us that our time here on earth is only a test to see where we will spend eternity. Will we choose God or will we choose to ignore Him. The pain and suffering we endure here can, if we allow it, lead us to realize that we need God and in Him only is there hope for a better life and a full future, not here on earth but in the eternal life.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings brother,

Very interesting. I learned a lot reading this, thanks for posting this information. My great-uncle passed away from this type of cancer and I didn't know much information about it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

Hi Lauren,
DeleteGlad you learned something. I too was learning as I was researching. I knew asbestos was deadly but I didn't know there was so little known on how to detect this cancer because it mimicked other issues.
Blessings,

Hi child of God,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely video to encourage those who have this ailment never to give up hope. May God continue to bless Heather with the substance of things hoped for. As for 'rose coloured glassed'? I have had mine on for over thirty years, ever since I have known the Lord.
God bless you.
Hi Brenda,
DeleteHeather and her husband have put a lot of time into raising funds to find a cure tor this cancer. It is good to see people care enough to reach out and help others.
Yes, rose coloured glasses...I like to look at my cup half full instead of half empty.
Blessings hon,

Hi child of God again,
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify:- the rose signifies love and the rose coloured glasses mean to me being able to look at everything from the perspective of God's love for us.
God bless, and keep wearing the rose coloured glasses.
Thank you Brenda for clarifying 'rose coloured glasses'.
DeleteYou are a precious one. :)
