Desert Prayer ~Psalm 63

Psalm 63 NIV
You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;
your right hand upholds me.
Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
they will go down to the depths of the earth.
They will be given over to the sword
and become food for jackals.
But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by God will glory in him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

    1. Hi Lisa,

      This is a hybrid Magnolia flower. We planted 3 trees last year in hopes they would grow in our altitude and they seem to be growing, although slowly, but fine except for the one the cows broke. Last year the cows broke through the fence into the yard and trampled one of these trees.

      Here is a link to some images of hybrids. https://www.google.ca/search?q=Magnolia+flower+hybrid+image&client=firefox-a&hs=L2X&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=afKcUaWaMafBygGIi4D4CA&ved=0CDAQsAQ&biw=1920&bih=908

  3. Hi child of God,
    lovely pics of a beautiful flower. As I was listening to the song and reading the psalm I was amazed at how we can actually experience the same spiritual feelings and say 'amen' to what someone who praised God thousands of years ago was was saying. We have a beautiful, God who is everywhere at all times. God bless you for sharing this lovely post.

    1. Hi Brenda,
      That is an amazing thought that we experience the same feelings as the one who wrote this thousands of years ago. That is the Living Spirit of God speaking to us and moving in and around us. I guess like most people, that is why I love the Psalms so much. They minister to us in every situation we encounter today.

      Blessings hon,

  4. I had never heard that song before. Neither was I aware of Psalm 63. I love David of the Bible.. How he cleaved to the Lord.. In his young days he was so brave, and as he got older he weakened?? don't know why, it was as if he tired? But he always clung onto the Lord.

    1. Hi Crystal Mary,

      The Psalms are so beautiful, all of them. This Psalm is sung by The Sons of Kora and from the research I have done, it seems like they have a lot of Psalms they have taken and put to music.

      I'm glad you enjoyed. :)

      David is quite the inspiration. He was called a man after God's heart. Definitely one to look up to.

      Blessings hon, thanks for visiting.

  7. When I read this Psalm, I can hear my brother in law singing. He made this into a beautiful song, very poignant. He passed away several years ago from melanoma. Please pray for my mom who has tongue cancer. Thank you very much! Blessings to you, Patsy
