Where God Dwells

Psalm 26:8 NIV

LORD, I love the house where you live,
the place where your glory dwells.

Where is the house of the LORD? His dwelling place is inside of believers of Jesus Christ. This psalm of David says that he loved the house where God lives and that is people. We are to love the believers of Jesus Christ and we love by caring for them and their needs. We are also to love ourselves and take care of the temple of God.
How are you loving yourself and other believers?

I'm linking up with Barbie, Fresh Brewed Sunday.

Blessings,

  1. Thank you for sharing God's Word with me today my sister in Christ.

The way in which I'm now once again trying to show my love for others is to spread God's living Word of truth.

And as for loving myself, I did the best thing I could have ever done, and that's that I returned to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

    1. Hi Nikki,
It is an odd thought knowing the Lord God of all lives in believers. I agree it is humbling and I do believe very comforting.

      Thank you for visiting.

  3. Hi child of God,
yes, that's true, He does not dwell in a house made with hands. There is no 'pay at the door', entry fee has already been paid. There are no dress restrictions, all may come as they are.
    God bless

    1. Hi Brenda,
When I was a child I thought the Lord lived in the church building. I am so glad that I never have to leave my God as He lives in me and the two of us are one through the sanctification of Jesus. :)

The price is paid and all are welcome!! That is great news indeed!

    1. Hi BB,
I am glad that comment spoke to you. Sometimes we just give Satan way to much credit when all the credit belongs to God and God alone.

      Lifting you up hon,

  5. Reminds of a song, part of it goes "Here oh Lord, have I prepared for You a home. Lord have I desired for you to dwell." Oh that He would come and abide and reside in me. Have a beautiful week my friend!

  8. C.O.G., I hadn't deeply thought about your question: "How are you loving yourself and other believers?", until our Pastor did his summer series on "create beauty", as in go out and affect the lives of others in our community and world for Christ. When the work of Jesus flows out of the love of Jesus, then helping others is natural and seek opportunities to bring that love can truly go unrecognized as extraordinary. without thinking or obligation, you see wrong and you try to make it right. You see hurt and you try to help. You see injustice and you try to make it better. Its not what you do, but who you are as a Child of God. To be like our Lord, that's where I strive to be. The question for me is "Am I doing it?" Fight the "good" fight. Blessings sister.

    1. Hi Brian,
I love your answer!! :) When the work of Jesus flows out of the love of Jesus That is the key right there. When we really know who we are in Jesus Christ and our love for Him takes over the love of ourself, then it is natural to want to help others. You have hit the nail on the head.

Thank you for sharing this Brian.

  10. how true it is... I am reading the lives of the saints..they say over and over..love God and love others..that is the simple path to heaven.

    1. Hi Annmarie,
You just mentioned the two commandments that sum up the ten and these are key in getting into heaven.
      Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
But doing just this won't get us into heaven, we need to be sanctified through Jesus Christ, He is our pathway to heaven, for He alone paid the price for our sins.
