Baptize My Heart

Matthew 3:11 ESV
“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

    1. Hi Elizabeth,
No we are not worthy at all, yet He loves us so much that He died in our place. What an amazing God He is!

  3. I know that Misty is right when she said that people need to be in contact with the love of God ... to feel the fire of Baptism and encounter Him. This is what is missing ... that produces an allegiance to Jesus, who we meet with daily in pure true love. Great song of praise sister. Blessings.

    1. Good morning Brian,
I agree with you, we need the baptism of fire!! We need to be in love and on fire for Jesus. Few people have this fire today. Some may say they have been baptized with fire but their actions don't show it. We need to seek this, asking Jesus to set us on fire for Him.

Glad you liked the song, Misty Edwards is one of my favourites. :)

  6. Misty is truly a gift from the Lord. Yes, I want God to baptize my heart with His fire, but it will come at a cost. Everything! I gladly give it all to Him!

    1. Hi Barbie,
I think it was wonderful that you son had a chance to train under Misty at IHOP. I don't know if he actually got to work with her but training in IHOP must have been an amazing experience.
Being baptized in the Holy Spirit's fire does cost everything we have but the reward of it is worth all of the sacrifice and more.

      Blessings hon,

    1. Hi Tim,
Misty Edwards leads worship at the International House of Prayer, in Kansas City. It is a place where there is 24/7 worship and prayer and has been going on solid for about 11 years now. Here is the link to the web site if you are interested in checking it out. http://www.ihopkc.org/prayerroom

      Glad you liked the song.

  8. Hi child of God,
yes Jesus must be taken seriously and we must not just speak empty words of pledging allegiance if we do not do as He says when we start to be taught by the Holy Spirit. We must try to be doers and not just hearers.
    God bless you

    1. Hi Brenda,
It is like a marriage, and perfectly illustrated in Scripture, a serious commitment with consequences for those who do not follow through with the commitment.
2 Peter 2:21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
      Hebrews 6:4-8
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.

God takes our pledge seriously and so should we.

Thanks for making such an important point Brenda. :)

    1. Hi Annmarie,
I'm glad you like it and I am sure your teens will like it too. She has some pretty good albums out there. You can also search out the other music artists that play at IHOP, they have many gifted singers.
