Progeria: Make a future happen for the Falcone boys

1 John 3:16-17 NIV
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

Falcone Family
Awareness for Progeria

Do you know anything about this disease? Nathan 6, and Bennett 3, both have this very rare disease and get this, the strain they have is even rarer. They are the only 2 in all of the United States to have it and to make it even rarer than that, they are brothers. Please click on their names, Nathan & Bennett, and meet these boys. You can also check out the other post I did for them here

There is not much known about this deadly disease. It would be really cool if we helped this family raise awareness for Progeria. There are many ways to help but, being bloggers, I thought it would be great to just put up a post about them and get the word out in the blogging community and if you have a facebook account, you could like their page here which will also bring awareness. You can also check out this page and find out other neat ways you can spread the news. Here is something you can do every single time you use your search engine on your computer. It is #7 on the list of how you can help...7. Use goodsearch.com as your main search engine instead of Google or Yahoo! Visit www.goodsearch.com and under "Who Do You Goodsearch For?" enter PRF. Every time you do an Internet search, money will be donated to Progeria Research Foundation. Simple! Do this and money will be donated into finding a cure for this very rare disease. You will be helping to fund research in order to extend the lives of these sweet brothers and others who are suffering with Progeria.

Recently, the family did an interview to make awareness for Progeria. Click here to read the article and learn a bit more about the struggles this family deals with on a daily basis. Your can also read Phyllis' blog, The Falcone Family to learn even more about these precious boys and maybe you want to leave her a note and let her know that you are praying for them.

Cure for Progeria!! It all starts with awareness, are you willing to help? I am only one small person in a big huge world but if we all work together we then become one big huge person in a very little world.

Luke 10:30-35 NIV
In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

Jesus tells us to treat others as we treat ourselves and to look out for our neighbour. Who is our neighbour? The one beside you. The one in need.

Thanks for reading!!

    1. Hi Brian,
Thanks for checking into the sites and helping where you can. Every little bit helps and I know God will take our meager efforts and increase it 10 times or more.

    1. Hi Annmarie,
Thanks for praying!! Make our petitions to God knowing He hears our cry.

Thank you for joining your heart with mine, for when two or more stand in agreement it will be done for us.

      Matthew 18:19-20
(Jesus said) “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”

      Blessings,

  3. I think I have heard of this before, haven't looked up the links yet but will...is it the disease that causes children to age really rapidly? I think I saw a documentary on PBS about this a couple of years ago...now done with guessing, now I'll go check it out...

btw, Thank you Child of God for visiting my blog...I think you came at a time while I was still loading pictures. I was having trouble loading them so I had to load one, post the blog post, go back re edit, add another picture, etc, it was a very painstaking ordeal tonight for some reason. Glad you liked the pictures...I also added Joni Mitchell's song "Both Sides Now", the clouds had me humming that song.

    1. Hi Susan,
Yes it is the ageing disease, very sad. Although both of these sweet boys have a very rare strand of it so nobody knows just how long their life span is. The average age for a child with Progeria is 13 years old. Thanks for checking out the links.

I will check out your post again, thanks!

      Blessings,

  4. Hi Child of God, I read the CHL (chestnut hill local) article by Sue Ann Rybak. It was beautifully written. A heartbreaking story. Despite their difficulties, I love that the children live a life as close to 'normal' as they can and they have great ambitions, with Nathan wanting to be a teacher, and their sister a veterinarian. The calendar is also another great idea to help with awareness. I had heard of Progeria before, from memory I think a little lass here in Aust. had this disease. Not the rare strain that Nathan and Bennent have though. Your right, we can all make a difference in some way. God bless you. Love, KC

    1. Hi Kaycee,
Thanks for checking out the article. Phyllis and Mark are the perfect parents for these boys. Their love and protection over the them is amazing. It is a very hard road to walk though, they will need lots of prayer to make it through.

      Blessings sister,
