But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.Today our pastor really pressed in on what are we doing as a church in telling people about Jesus. How many souls are we reaching for Him? This really got me pondering, really what am I doing? I have a God centered blog, I home school, I wear crosses and every now and then I will wear a t-shirt with a Bible verse on it. My family knows my beliefs, so do my very few neighbours. But really what am I doing? I am sure I could do more but what and how?
We are living in scary times. Fish dying, birds dropping from the air. Earthquakes and Tsunami's, crazy weather all over the globe. Riots happening in the middle east. I believe these are the last days and there are many unsaved souls out there. I pray and fast but I feel an urgency in my spirit and I question myself, "what am I doing to spread the truth of Jesus"? What else can I do?
I am going to bed this night with this question in my heart and on my mind. What more can I do for You Jesus?
1Thessalonians 3:11-13 NIV
Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

For me I know you are a wonderful prayer warrior and a magnificent sister in Christ, and I can tell you right now that our Lord Jesus Christ has worked through you to help me to a great extent!!! I am so blessed to know and to have someone like you praying for me!!! I don't possibly know what more you could do!!!
ReplyDeleteGod's Blessings to you sis,
Lon
What more indeed. I prayed the same this morning:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this Child of God. I'll be asking the same question too. Many blessings to you and your family. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you can think of other ways to help people, will you please share? I'm always looking for more ways. I have kept our church nursery for the past 10 years (yes, I started when I was 15!) and I also helped start a couple's bible study at our church which turned into such a big hit that it needed a nursery also :) Anyways, any suggestions you have would be helpful :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lon,
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet! Prayer is so important and I am very, very happy to know that you are on a close walk with the Lord! That blesses me. You are very special Lon, that is what God is telling me.
Hi Ma,
He is calling!!!
Hi Vilisi,
It is a good question to ask. I am happy to know you are asking it too. If God tells you something pass it on I would love to know what He says.
Hi *Ross and Katy*,
This is amazing work you are doing for God!! You have a beautiful heart for God, tending to the babies, so special. I will share what He tells me, for sure!
God bless,

Sometimes, on our birthday weekends, we go to the mall and hand out tracts and talk to people. I found that Ray Comfort has an EXCELLENT way to talk to people, tell the Gospel, and and keep to the point. He also has great tracts. He reaches and talks to a ton of people everyday about salvation. Please check his site out: http://www.wayofthemaster.com/
ReplyDeleteHi Kaboom,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this site! I will check it out.
Handing out tracks is a great way to witness to people. My kids and I use to buy food for hungry people on the street and place a tack inside the bag. We also did treasure hunts. I think I am going to organize some treasure hunts, these are always fun!
Thanks for your suggestion; I love it!
Blessings,

Dear Child of God, I feel the same way..we are in dire times and our work is not finished...Show us the way Lord, Heavenly Father let our testimony reach a lost one today...Amen..
ReplyDeleteI do a lot of intercessory prayer but feel I need to do more. I also post a short devotion on facebook every morning...But there's more to be done, I feel it.
Blessings to you Child of God...Mary <:))><
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI stand in agreement with your prayer, amen!
Wonderful for this devotion on your facebook page, this is a great spot to witness.
Thank you for the blessing and I love this fancy fish!

Excellent question. It has certainly gotten me to thinking. As for you, I know you are an amazing prayer warrior. Standing in the gap through intercession is an powerful ministry indeed. I think one of the best ways to win people to the Lord is through relationships...building relationships with unbelievers is a way to show them the love of Christ. And like the saying goes, people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care! I for one most definitely need to work on this!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteBuilding relationships is a great ministry but we do need to be careful about yoking ourselves with unbelievers. I had a mishap that started pulling my family away from God and not the other way around. Good thing my husband and I stopped things before they got bad. But you are so right when you show non believers the love of Jesus it changes their heart.
Great idea I will chat with God about this!
Blessings,
<><
I see what you're saying...we just have to follow the Lord's leading in each situation. I think that if non-believers have the opportunity to really observe us in our walk on a regular basis, and see how our faith guides us in our day to day lives (trials, tribulations, joys, sorrows, etc.) God can use that to draw them to Himself through our lives and not our words, if that makes sense. That's what I mean by relationship, a point of contact. We are more willing to buy a car or something like that, if a friend recommends it to us based on their success with it, than we would from just a TV commercial, I think. I think a non-believer would be the same way, they would want to know how faith actually works in practice, not just be told to have it. At least, I know that is what *I* would want if I were in their shoes!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteYou totally make sense.:)And isn't that what we are commissioned to do?!
Show that our relationship with Jesus is a real life thing not a whole bunch of rules and regulations.
We just need to be careful, especially when we have kids that can be easily drawn away from the Lord.
God bless and I like how you think!
