Summer's challenge for today is a picture of unconditional
love.

Annie |
Annie is one of our orphaned calves. Annie had problems drinking milk from her mom and when we found her she was skin and bones!! It took us 2 weeks to get her to drink from a bottle. We tried and tried to get her to nurse from her mom but she refused so we ended up force feeding her from the bottle. Finally she got the hang of it as you can see from this picture. She is now with the rest of the heard, a bit on the small side as this is the case, I am finding out, for bottle fed babies.
1 John 3:16-18
NIV
This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister
in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
Blessings in action and truth,
<><
Aw, well, I'm glad she's able to eat now. Our kids had a hard time learning to drink from a bottle, but now, they're always looking for it!
ReplyDeleteHi Kaboom,
ReplyDeleteThis one sure did take a long time to start but once she did get the hang of it she drank like crazy!
Blessings,
<><
Oh my goodness! She is just too precious for words! Thank goodness she is drinking from a bottle and growing :) (even if she does stay on the small side!)
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness Annie is soooo precious and wow this tells me so much about you! I already new you were great and inspiring and now you are even more so :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome you nursed that precious little calf back to health! Love this picture

Hi *Ross and Katy*,
ReplyDeleteAnnie is so sweet and she really bonded to my daughter. Really cute to watch a little calf follow her around like she was her mama!
Hi Summer,
Haha! You might say I have my heart on my sleeve kind of person and I love animals of all kinds! I would love to raise an orphaned bear or courgar. We have the perfect place but the opportunity has not been given yet.
Blessings,
<><
Child a beautiful post and I will continue to add all those from your site to my prayer list as the POWER of prayer has no comparision.IT IS THE STRONGEST WEAPON. I love that little calf how adorable and hungry by the looks of things. All Gods creatures are such a marvel aren't they. May God continue to bless you and your loved ones and may He give you constant strength through His loving embrace Thanks for John 3:16 God bless Patricia
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for praying for these precious people! The power that is released when we pray is far beyond our understanding.
Annie is on her own and mixing in the herd. She is on the small side but her personality is huge!!
Blessings,
<><
God Bless your heart that is such a wonderful act of love!!!
ReplyDeleteA friend of ours gave us this kitten one time that was four weeks old that was just skin and bone, and she wouldn't eat or drink, so my wife took care of her twenty four seven around the clock! After that, four days later she ended up eating on her own. And we named her Baby. She lived happily ever after, and became a spoiled brat!
God Bless,
Lon
Hi Lon,
ReplyDeleteHow sweet for you and your wife to look after a half starved kitty! There is so much to learn from animals especially raising babies.
Blessing to you and your spoiled Baby!

One word...AWWWWWW!!!!! Well, you know I can't just say one word, lol!! What a sweet little baby calf!!!! I'm not much of an animal person myself, but I like to look at pictures of animals and hear stories. :) I believe God uses animals as ministering spirits to us humans. There are some really special critters out there and Annie is one of them! :) She is also blessed to have you in her life!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Love is a verb.
ReplyDeleteAction, action, action is the name of the game!
Great photo! :-)
Take care and have a nice day :-)

Hi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteI agree that animals are used by God as ministering spirits to us. They have such a healing effect. Have you ever seen a mentally handicapped person ride a horse? I have and it is amazing! There was a teen boy I knew who was severly handicapped and very angry, the family was not Christian. His mom took him horseback riding on therapeutic horses and it changed his whole personality around. Praise God!
Hi Ron,
Love IS a verb and baby calves are full of action!!
Blessings,

Hi Child of God -

Hi Sandra,

Hi Starry Dawn and welcome!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, do I have a heart for animals! It is pretty wild. I have some amazing stories to share and I will one day.
Thank you for your kind words of praise but in truth all praise goes to God for if it wasn't for Him coaxing me to start this blog I never would have mainly because I am a person of very few words and writing is one of my weakest points. :)
I see you are a poet and writer! Wonderful! I will stop by your little corner.
Blessings,
