Our society does not regard Satan as a real being. Even in some churches the members will ignore this. But Scripture tells us otherwise. There is a real evil being and he does a lot of under cover work in the area of mental illness, divorce, physical & sexual abuse, self degrading, insecurities and so on.
When we read Mark 5:1-5 we see that Satan likes to isolate, shame and torture the people he controls. His power is inhumanely strong and he uses this to hold people in fear and bondage. When the evil one achieves a hold in our lives he will lead us into self-destructive behaviour.
Satan is around and he is roaming and wanting to destroy as many lives as he can before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. As his time grows short, he is becoming fiercer and if he notices that he can have a chance with you in pulling you away from Jesus or stop you doing the work God has for you, he will. He will tempt and deceive you. He is a seducer and will stop at no means to take you down.
Focus your thoughts on Jesus Christ and His word. He will fill you up and defeat the tactics of Satan. When Jesus brings to mind a sin you have done, just repent of it and ask for His forgiveness, this closes up the hole that Satan can get a foothold on, Ephesians 4:26-27. Get involved in a church and have people praying for you. Remember Satan wants to isolate you and bring you into darkness. Where there is light the darkness must flee. And when you see someone under distress, pray for them. Have compassion on them and realize that this is a spiritual war and they are under attack and are in need of prayer and maybe need leading into repentance for a sin they have committed, like anger, hatred or just pure frustration.
1 John 1:5-7 NIV
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Praise Jesus, He has overcome the darkness and through Him we can too.
Blessings,

Unbelievable! Great post. Today a friend and I were talking about this at work. I was telling here what my friend always tells me when I'm letting Satan run my life. Put him under your foot and stomp on his neck...he is a liar...quote scriptures...and other things too. I'm going to have my friend at work read this tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Blessings...Chelle
Hi Chelle,
DeleteI am glad this blessed you. As you know, there is a war and it is between God and Satan and we are caught in between. God gives us free will to listen to His Word and obey it. Satan, on the other hand, will push, force and bully his will on us and that being he wants us to suffer in hell with him. Period. As the time is growing to an end of the world as we know it, Satan is on the rampage trying to knock down as many as he can especially active Christians. If you life is being attacked by him then you know you are doing major damage to his fallen kingdom. Praise God and when you notice that you have fallen down, just pick yourself up, brush off, repent and keep moving towards Jesus.
Quoting Scripture is amazing and so is singing Worship songs, that totally blows Satan and his demons away.
Blessings,

Preach it, sister! Couldn't have said it better myself! :D
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,
DeleteLol!
Thanks!!
<><
What you have written is so true. I have had my own bad experiences the last few days..
ReplyDeleteMy mind was so confused it was hard to pray or do anything. Then last night I began quoting the word of God aloud...over and over, until finally, I felt better.
Today was a blessing, I can think and read again with joy. xx
Hi Crystal Mary,
DeleteGod's word is powerful! I am glad to hear that you are doing better. :) Satan is really on the attack. So many Christians that I know are being targeted. Prayer, reading God's word and praising His name put Satan running. But the hard thing is that when the attack comes it usually blindsides you and knocks you down and it takes a bit to get up. I believe that is why it is really good to have people covering each other all the time.
Lifting you up sister,
<><
I love this! Light does dissolves the darkness. Words of truth. Blessings to you dear one!
ReplyDeleteHi JBR,
DeleteWords of truth sure do ring home! I'm glad this made sense.

Ok so I sort of wrote about this while answering your comment on my blog. Well I thought I'd come over and tell the story so your followers can read about it too. If you don't mind that is?
ReplyDeleteOne evening our beloved power supply company was having a bit of a rest and in the process everything was dark. Well, I'm kind of used to this happening, I live on a farm and it happens more than just regularly, so out came one candle which I put in the kitchen window. At some point I went to the sink to do something or other and noticed the reflective tape on the side of a truck, that was parked about a hundred meters away, was shining very brightly.
"The electricity's off, where is the light coming from to light up the reflector?" I want you to know that the tape was really shining. As I moved my hand in front of this single little candle flame, the reflector stopped shining. I was amazed, we're talking about 100 meters to the truck and then 100 meters back again and it was still as bright as can be.
The very first thing that popped into my head was the thought that the tiniest little flame could overcome complete darkness.
Think about it, when Jesus said to them, 'Do you bring in the lamp to put it under the meal-tub, or under the bed? Surely it is brought to be set on the lamp-stand.", did He mean that when others are struggling in utter darkness and hopelessness we, as small and insignificant as we may seem, are a flame of light and hope?
If one little candle flame can impact something so far away, surely we too impact others just by being who we are, a light to the world.
So there you have the whole story, I hope you don't mind me posting it here as a comment.
Bless you my friend, Geoff.e
Hi Geoff,
DeleteYou know I don't mind you posting this here. :) I love stories.
That is so cool! How the light of a small candle can travel so far. I agree with you that the light of Christ shines through us and we probably have no idea just how far it shines and just who it is reaching.
A little bit of good goes a long way and puts out a whole lot of darkness.
Thanks for sharing your story here. Any time, my friend from Africa.
Blessings,
