Childlike innocence, frankness, etc.; befitting a child: childlike trust.
We need childlike faith in order to believe the Bible. The older you get the harder it is to believe. One can become so stuck in their ways with so many walls put up around their heart that not even the Holy Spirit will penetrate, not because He can't but because He wants us to make the first step.
When you take the leap of faith and choose to believe God, He will be there to meet you. I remember being 4 years old and my estranged sister came home. As soon as I saw her I leaped from the top of the stairs, numbering 8 steps, into her very full and unaware arms. My childishness didn't think of the fact that she might not catch me. My eyes were on her and the happiness at the sight of her overwhelmed me. Of course she dropped everything and caught me with a welcoming, heart felt squeeze and whispering I love you in my ear.
Mark 10:13-16 NIV
People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
Jesus tells us we must become like children in order to be in His Kingdom. Will you trust in Him? Does anyone have a story they would like to share about childlike faith? I would love to hear it.

hi child of God:)
ReplyDeletetrust for me is something to be learned by experience as you said above. yet all too often i find myself just winging it in trusting Him. it's like being dealt a hand from a deck of cards. you don't know what you're gonna get.
Hi Bud,
ReplyDeleteWhat a very different way of looking at it. Never thought of that approach before.
Trusting is very scary especially if one has been hurt before. It leaves you vulnerable. Yet being vulnerable with God is good because He is always looking out for our best interest, not here on earth but in heaven.
Thanks for stopping by. :)

Hi Child of GOD -
ReplyDeleteI so love that photo, lady.
Your trust reminder is truly appreciated. We all need such reminders.
I remember a song that has these lyrics, "Trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey."
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI love that song, so simple yet true.
Blessings,
