There is just nothing like fresh veggies from the garden. My in laws arrived for a visit and we had a wonderful dinner with fresh swish chard. I scored some serious points by serving this delicious dish steamed with fresh garlic from the garden.
So my sunshine for this week is fresh swish chard and happy in laws!! :)
I'm linking up with Summer at Summer's Story for the Sunshine Project.
Isaiah 55:12-13 NIV
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
which will not be destroyed.”
Blessings,

ReplyDeleteHi Summer,
DeleteSwish Chard is so nummy, it is very similar to spinach and you cook it the same way. It was delish and I scored a star with my father in law. :)

M.mm..mmm....Can I come to lunch. I did have fresh strawberries, both wild and cultivated, from the garden on my breakfast cerial this morning, and I have managed to freeze lots of gooseberries and blackcurrants from the garden, but I am an amateur at the moment in my little plot. Must have a closer look at the sunshine project, is it something that people can share pics on?
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Hi Brenda,
DeleteLol...if you are willing to travel here I will serve you an amazing lunch! :)
I am an amateur gardener, it is my son and hubby that are the experts.
The sunshine project is pictures of whatever gave you sunshine happiness for the week. You can put up as many as you like and tell about it. It is super fun to do.
Enjoy your nummy berries.

Hi child of God,
ReplyDeletethe sunshine project sounds lovely. It might take me a bit of time to find out exactly what I have to do ( I am quite green on the internet, used to desk top publishing packages on computer, but I have had help from friends and will attempt to put some pics on, and info on them.
H...e....l....p!!
Hi Brenda,
DeleteIt's not that hard to put in a picture. When you are posting there is a picture icon on the task bar of your posting page, click on it and it will bring you to a pop up window. Click choose files and that will bring you to another pop up window that allows you access your pictures from a file or from your desk top. Choose your picture by double clicking on the picture and this will load it into the first pop up window. Click save and that will save it to your post. You can also load a picture from the web by clicking the appropriate button on the first pop up window.
I hope I didn't confuse you too much. :s You can fool around with it to figure out how it works.
Blessings,
<><
Sorry to take up so much of your blog with my questions but it's not the pics I have the problem with, I can do that, it's the project itself I don't know about. Do you just dedicate one day a week to the sunshine project on your own blog or is it put on a special blog. It's links I don't know about.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteNo problem at all. :)
The person holding the link up, in this case it is Summer, dedicates one day a week which happens to be Thursday. She puts up a post and you link up through her blog. You make a post yourself and then you copy the post link address and put it into the linky she has set up on her blog.
To summarize: You make a post and make a reference to the Sunshine Project, publish it and copy the link address from your published post. Then you go to Summer's blog post that is published on Thursday and click on the 'linky'. This will tell you to put in the name of your post, the link address of your post and I think an email address. After putting all the information in you click save or continue. This should put all your information except your email address on her blog post.
It is a bit confusing the first time but it should make sense once you have done it.
I hope this helps.
Blessings,
<><
nice post thanks for sharing...i found you thrue other followers..looking for to visit more and read your posts...blessings across the miles
ReplyDeleteHello My Diary,
DeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I look forward to more visits from you. :)
Blessings,
Hi Child of God,
ReplyDeleteI have thought of you the past months, but have been unable to visit many blogs lately. This afternoon I made it a point to drop by your place to catch up. I also scrolled down a bit to read some of your recent posts. That basket of Swiss chard looks so delicious, but we don't get it here where I live. But the bread with fresh garlic on it, we have it all the time and is really good with pasta and soups.
Loved the story about your son who used to take things apart when he was little. My first grandson is like that, he is so curious to learn how things work. I am sure that he will turn out to be good with mechanical things, just as your son is now.
Glad I dropped by...
Love
Lidia
Hi Lidia,
DeleteThank you for stopping by and thinking of me. :)
If you grandson is into taking things apart then by the time he is 13 he will start to put things together. It is so nice to have a young guy around tinkering and inventing.
Blessings sister,
