Leap Year Day & Prayer

I just have to put up a post for this special day that only comes once in every 4 years!

February 29 2012!!

Google Image
Psalm 28:6-7 NIV

 Praise be to the LORD,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.

Please keep praying for Phoebe, Bree & Summer

Phoebe's MRI scans came back clean but she does have a fungal infection and is very sick right now & on a ventilator. Pray her immune system comes back strong and starts fighting this infection.

Bree's surgery went well and the surgeon believes he got all of the cancer. Pray there is a treatment for Bree because if the cancer has changed type, then a new treatment is needed. Pray for her to heal quickly from the surgery.

Summer is in need of prayer as she is having her 3rd set of chemo infusions this week and is very, very ill as this chemo is starting to accumulate in her body and making her very sick.

If you have a moment, visit Phoebe, Bree and Summer's sites and leave them a word of encouragement.

Thank you so much and enjoy this amazing day!!

Blessings,

You Are Good!

Google Image

No one cares about me.
I can't do anything right.
It doesn't matter what I do.
I'm not good at anything.
Everyone rejects me.
There is nothing I can do to change things.

This IS NOT revelation from God.
These are LIES the enemy wants you to believe.
Don't fall for it.

Job 11:2-6 NIV
“Are all these words to go unanswered?
Is this talker to be vindicated?
Will your idle talk reduce others to silence?
Will no one rebuke you when you mock?
You say to God, ‘My beliefs are flawless
and I am pure in your sight.’
Oh, how I wish that God would speak,
that he would open his lips against you
and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom,
for true wisdom has two sides.
Know this: God has even forgotten some of your sin."

Psalm 103:8-12 NIV
The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
   nor will he harbor his anger forever;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
   so great is his love for those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Google Image
Praise God for forgiveness of sin. If you are being accused today, check your heart to see if you are harbouring sin if so, ask for forgiveness. If you are still being accused, rebuke it for that is the accuser just trying to pull you down.

Please for strength for both families as this is a huge trial for them to have to go through.

Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

LIVE!

Ezekiel 16:6 NIV
“‘Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, “Live!”

This verse just says so much about God. Isn't it just like Him to say, "Live!"? Please, if you have a moment, watch the music video Time for Love, by Joanne McFatter. This song describes exactly what I feel inside when I read this verse.

God Is Jealous For You

God loves you with a love you have no idea about; divine love.

Our mighty God is so very jealousy for you. Seek His face and see just how awesome and wonderful He is.

John 15:9-17 NIV
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other."

Spiralling Up Into God

Acts 8:1-4 NIV
And Saul approved of their killing him.
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

DEVOTION

What is it that God wants most out of us? He wants our devotion and our eyes turned on Him, worshipping and seeking out His will, always. What is God’s will? To have His gospel spread starting first with us in a close, personal relationship with Him, then taking what we are learning and sharing it with others who are in need of encouragement, weak in their walk with Him or those who do not know Him at all. How does God accomplish this? Most often He uses persecution to accomplish this task, something to shake us out of our cosy seat.

PURSUE

If our lives were always smooth sailing would we ever pursue God and tell others about Him? I don’t think I would have. I mean, I knew Jesus from a young age but I surly didn’t pursue Him or speak freely about Him. I was quite comfy where I was in my relationship with Him but He knows better than I and saw that my relationship with Him was very shallow and almost meaningless. It was when I was in trouble or having problems that I searched Him out. Sometimes I would just cry out for Him to help, and other times I would diligently seek His face by searching Scripture trying to see what His plan was. The more I knew about Him and centered my life around Him, the freer I talked about Him because, well, He was almost always on my mind.

SPIRAL UP

The more trials I face the deeper into God and His word I dive and the deeper I dive into God's Word the more persecution I would face. Almost like a spiral up into God resulting in the freer I am in talking about Him as my life centres around His Word. I believe this is God’s plan to allow persecution in order for His Gospel to be spread and Himself to be found by believers and non believers alike. Persecution of the flesh through sickness, terror, spiritual warfare or any other calamity will knock us out of complacency and into living a life spreading His Word.

SPREAD THE GOSPEL

When trouble comes your way look to Jesus, seek His face and spread His word. Give glory to God for His plans are always good. Trouble and pain may be coming your way because God loves you and wants you to seek Him. He wants you to get out of your cosy routine life and spread His Word.

Joy of the LORD

1 Thessalonians 1:6 NIV
Google Image
You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.

Too often, we let our present circumstances define our mood and direct our emotions. Above, Paul is talking about new Christians finding joy in the Lord in amongst severe suffering. The new Christians imitated Jesus and did not let their anguish determine their mood but rather chose joy in suffering. The powerful message of the gospel filled them up and the Holy Spirit carried them through intense persecution.

Here in North America at this present time, we do not face intense persecution but never the less we can and do face intense suffering. Misery from illness, finances, loss of a loved one, divorce, intense physical and or sexual abuse and so on, can cause us to lose joy. We have to choose joy in suffering and not allow our present circumstances to steal away the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:
Dear Father,
Please turn my suffering into joy and do not allow my outward circumstances determine my mood but empower this joy by Your Holy Spirit. Allow the joy of the Lord to spread to all who cross my path and help me to be a better example of spiritual joy to those around me. In Jesus' name, amen.

James 1:2-3 NIV
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Spirit Overcoming Flesh

Google Image

More wood. Make it hotter, yet even hotter still. No, Lord! What are you doing?? I don’t get it. I thought we went through this whole process of banging me senseless. Why are You doing this again for the umpteenth time? What’s going on? Am I not sharp enough yet?

God is choosing to sharpen me again. Just when I thought I am sharp, He has decided that I am not yet sharp enough. The process of being on His anvil never gets easy, it always hurts and this time is no different  than the others except I am quicker to relent ‘self’ and allow Him to continue His work in me instead of resisting what I know will eventually happen. Red hot me being hammered into a finer, sharper, purer blade for His use.

Isaiah 54:16-17 NIV
“See, it is I who created the blacksmith
who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;
no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,”
            declares the LORD.

Zechariah 13:9 NIV
This third I will put into the fire;
I will refine them like silver
   and test them like gold.
They will call on my name
   and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

Spirit overcoming flesh

I am yours Lord. Please do not tarry in Your work but be quick about it for it is extremely painful for me. In You I trust only.

This Is Love (Eternally)

This Is Love (Eternally) Peter J. Wheeler

1 John 4:7-12 NIV

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Love Is

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love Is
Jesus Christ
Without love everything falls apart. God showed us what love is by coming to earth in Jesus Christ, His Son, and showing us how to live unselfish, serving lives not for man but for God. Christians are called into laying down their lives for others and the only way we can do this in a loving attitude is by focusing on the one who showed us how; Jesus Christ. Keep Jesus front and centre always.

My Savior My God

Aaron Shust My Savior My God    Warning; a few graphic pictures in the video

My Savior loves, my Savior lives my Savior always there for me.
My God He was, my God He is my God is always going to be.

How true! No matter what we have to go through in life God is always there for us, we just need to stop and listen, or watch and we will see His hand move in our lives.

Psalm 139:7-12 NIV
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Please stop by the prayer page there is a new addition. Jack is 8 years old and has been suffering with Mitochrodrial Disease since he was born. He is having a few issues and is in need of prayer and his mom Heidi could use some encouragement as her heart is just breaking with worry and what tomorrow will hold.

Answerable to Jesus

Jude 1:4 NIV
For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

As Christians, we do not have a license to sin. We are held at a higher level of accountability than non-Christian. Our lives should stand apart and we should not be like others who do not believe in Jesus Christ. The life of a Christian should be so different than the worldly people; a living testimony to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. How does this living testimony look? A life covered in humility, repentance, forgiveness and love. Does this mean we are perfect? No way! It means when you fall down flat, you pick yourself up, dust off, repent, forgive and keep on walking towards Jesus.

Strong Enough

Matthew West Strong Enough

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Philippians 4:13 NIV
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Please, Please Read This One

Phoebe
There has been a specific prayer request for Phoebe. The quote below is taken from Phoebe's CaringBridge site.

We are a Christian family who believes in the power of prayer and I believe we need to raise an army of dedicated prayer warriors who will commit to praying faithfully for Phoebe EVERY DAY for the next year. My goal is to recruit an army of thousands of prayer warriors and I believe the Lord has given me a simple formula to make this a reality.  If this formula is executed it will produce a prayer army of over 30,000 people!

If you are interested in being dedicated for daily prayer, committed for 1 year and are willing to take on some responsibility, please contact me through email or leave a comment with your email address and I will send out some more information.

Please take this to the Lord and ask for His guidance. Thank you!

2 Timothy 3:12-17 NIV
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Purify Your Heart

James 4:8 NIV

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded

Google Image

God doesn't walk away from us, it is us who walk away from God.

If we come close to God by reading His word, doing His will, rebuking our sins asking for forgiveness and set our hearts on God, He will come close to us.

The first part of this verse I love! It is so comforting knowing God will come close to us if we come close to Him. The second part stings! Not the sinners or purify part but the double minded. I don't want to be this way yet I know when I exalt something higher than God I am being double minded. Pride, anger, even righteous anger if I carry on in it too long then that becomes my God. Forgive me Father for serving the flesh instead of You.

Trust

Matthew 18:2-5 NIV

Google Image
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."

Childlike innocence, frankness, etc.; befitting a child: childlike trust.

We need childlike faith in order to believe the Bible. The older you get the harder it is to believe. One can become so stuck in their ways with so many walls put up around their heart that not even the Holy Spirit will penetrate, not because He can't but because He wants us to make the first step.

When you take the leap of faith and choose to believe God, He will be there to meet you. I remember being 4 years old and my estranged sister came home. As soon as I saw her I leaped from the top of the stairs, numbering 8 steps, into her very full and unaware arms. My childishness didn't think of the fact that she might not catch me. My eyes were on her and the happiness at the sight of her overwhelmed me. Of course she dropped everything and caught me with a welcoming, heart felt squeeze and whispering I love you in my ear.

Mark 10:13-16 NIV

People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus tells us we must become like children in order to be in His Kingdom. Will you trust in Him? Does anyone have a story they would like to share about childlike faith? I would love to hear it.

Blessings,
