Joshua 24:14-15 NIV
“Now fear the LORD and
serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors
worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for
yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors
served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the
LORD.”
Matthew 21:12-13
Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and
selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the
benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
John 14:1-4
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Who will you serve? The gods of life or the God of all?

Hi Child of God -
ReplyDeleteThank you for these rich reminders.
I LOVE praise photo of John Waller!
He looks consumed by his love for our Lord. LOVE IT!
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteIsn't John Waller amazing? I saw this song on a friends Facebook page and I went and checked out all of his songs and most of them are amazing.
I too love it when an artist really praises the Lord with his whole heart.
Blessings,

Isn't it obvious the we live in a "fallen" & "lost" world. We seem to be leave Egypt all the time because the world of "other gods" is everywhere. The Devil is the father of lies that deceives and tempts the sinful desires of the sensual flesh with lusts of and passions for ungodly pleasures, greed, vanity, position and power, as gods of live or idols, instead of the true Creator God in the unbeliever and before God in importance in the believer. These idols are not truly "gods of live", but gods of death. They are sin. Serve the Lord.
ReplyDeleteLeviticus 11:44-45 “For I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

Hi Brian,
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving these words of wisdom.
When you think about Satan and the power he has, being an angel of light, knowing how deceptive he is I can only say thank you to God for loving us and sending Jesus to save us from the grasp of Satan. There is no other possible way to overcome the temptations that Satan puts in front of us, we are too weak and our flesh is too strong and Satan is too knowledgeable, he knows our weakness and he only wants to kill and destroy us.
God has made it very simple tho, obey Him and good things will happen because then Satan cannot destroy our soul if we are under the protection of our Heavenly Father. Very simple but hard to do unless we give up our will for God's will.
Thanks for stopping by, you always get me thinking in such a good an positive way.
Blessings,
