1 Timothy 6:17 NIV
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Putting our hope in the promise of God is the only thing that will never pass away. No one can take this from you, not ever. Not even Satan can snatch you from the Creator's hands.
Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
So when the stock markets crash and the world seems to be falling apart right before our very eyes, you will have a security that will never be shaken. The promise of eternal life in a place where there is no evil and never a reason to worry again. Praise God!
Romans 8:38-39 NIV
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Blessings,

Well said, I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this comforting reminder. Truths that are always available if we will only believe and surrender to Him. PS Just added your button to my blog!! Thank you for your awesome ministry. ~ Alice
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome! This morning I was sitting on the couch having a 'moment', getting caught up in worry about material things, when I started to pray for forgiveness and I just started to quote that scripture from Mat.6- I even said aloud "store up your treasures in heaven not here"! I am amazed at how God sometimes speaks to His children the same things at the same time:)
ReplyDeleteHi Ma,
ReplyDeleteMe too! Can't wait!
Hi Alice,
To have faith and fully surrender to Him, then we will see amazing things happen. Fully surrendering is the hard part. :s I so often take back what I have given to Him then have to go through the whole process of surrendering again. I am glad He is patient because sometimes I am so dull.
Hi Never Forsaken,
It is so cool how God will speak and confirm His word through others. So many times I will be convicted of something and God will confirm that conviction through someone's blog or a devotion. I just love How He speaks to us.
Blessings,

Just the other day I was driving past some old and abandoned ramshackle houses (lots of them here) and thinking how useless it is to place meaning and purpose on material things since everything just passes away.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good week. :)
Oh how I needed to be reminded how much I need to depend on Him. That is where my help and security comes from. Thank you for shairing. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi Vilisi,
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we can get so caught up in 'stuff' that only falls apart and fades away. We like nice things, but the nicest things will be in heaven. :)
Hi JBR,
He fills us up when we are empty, we need to remember to not get empty. :) Always praying for you hon.
Blessings,

In reading this post,I immediately thought of Isaiah 40:7... "The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever."
ReplyDeleteEverything that can be shaken will be shaken. Great reminder to put our trust only on the ROCK! Blessings!
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteWelcome! :)
We will wither along with the grass and the flowers, good idea to invest in Jesus while there is still time.
Blessings,

GREAT message!! So very true!!! It is so easy to get caught up, that a tunnel vision is formed until eventually all is seen is ourselves and what will make us secure and safe, which is usually earthly and monetary. I have to be careful of this because of the way I grew up. Have to wide eyed and focused on always looking up.
ReplyDeleteIts funny you should write this post now, because I was just talking to a friend who recently lost a friend/coworker in a sudden tragic accident. She had mentioned that all his "stuff" he had in his office is still there and he is gone. She was angry that he concentrated on the here and now and in what he should have or does have and not on the Lord. She scoffed and said the "stuff" is still here and he is gone, he couldn't take that stuff with him. We prayed.
Think she was enlightened in her anger that the true security was in the Lord, the one thing that IS for sure and promised!
Good stuff CoG!!
Hugs and Blessings :)
Btw Just added your awesome button to my blog! :)
Hi IwP,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about having to focus on always looking up! It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the here and now and it sure does take discipline and faith to focus on what we haven't seen yet.
Cool, that you friend was enlightened and was able to see that our security is in the Lord. When we realize that His promises are true, then we will never worry again because we trust that He will always provide what we need.
Wow! Thanks for adding my blog button. :)
Blessings,

I think this is my third comment on the same post!! :>)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to respond to your comment regarding prayer - I totally agree with you - I have experienced the same thing. The more I submit myself to prayer, being alone with Him, and just being still for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide, He always draws me into (sometimes hours) deep prayer for others, their healing, their salvation. How I love the Spirit of God......
Hi Alice,
ReplyDeleteI am just smiling at the joy I see in you; very refreshing. :)
Me too! I love God and His Spirit. I love talking to Him, it is so safe. I also love the way He works, drawing us closer and closer and the more we know about Him the more we want Him.
Keep praying girl it only gets better.

Hi Child of God,
ReplyDeleteThis post is a wonderful, inspirational one. There is nothing that can take away the love of God, His promise to His faithful believers of inheriting the Kindgdom of Heaven. All in this material world will perish sooner or later. Marriages could end up, friends may depart, parents may die, we may go broke, but the love of God will never die. He will always be there for us. Praise the Lord for His many blessings on His children!!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom!!
God bless you, Child of God, and those you love!!
Thanks for visiting my blogs!!
This one is an awesome post.
Blessings,
Poet Starry Dawn.
Hi Starry Dawn,
ReplyDeleteA while ago I went through a very rough spot in my life and Romans 8:38-39 was the verses I clung to. Nothing can ever take us away from God once we have given our self to Him. I would say this verse over and over again and the deep despair that I felt would just leave me and His love would come in and cover me.
When we have been cleansed of sin, the Truth always sounds fantastic!
Blessings,

So true, our security should be in Jesus and Jesus alone; He is the only thing that can not be shaken. Great post.
ReplyDeleteHi Toyin,
ReplyDeleteJesus, His name gives me great joy! I am so glad that He is our rock.
Blessings,

Dear Sister,
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a great post! Actually, if you wouldn't mind, I would love to share this on my blogspot?
Knowing this truth, I do sometimes fall. Argh, I hate that, that because it hurts to even admit it, it hurts the heart deeply and leaves a scars.
How thankful I am that God doesn't leave me down and out - no, He reaches down to take hold of me.
He forgives me for my insecurity issues, so I once again dust myself off and give glory and honour to the ONE who loves me more than I can imagine. The ONE who loved me so much, He died for ME so that I may live. That just blows my mind away. As I ponder that, my eyes swell with tears.
The difficult part is reaching out to others that don't yet know Jesus, to help them understand that He truly is our ONLY lifeline, now and forever.
God bless you dear child of God.
With love and care from Kerrie. xOx
PS: Matthew 6:19-21 is Jaiden's most loved Scripture, along with Matthew 20:16. He chose these Scriptures himself when he was five.
Hi Kerrie,
ReplyDeleteOf course you can share this. :)
It sure does hurt to fall but that's ok, our pride is bruised and that is very good for us. God will always be there with His out stretched hand waiting patiently for us to get up, brush our self off and keep on, keeping on.
What a blessed son you have. Treasure him and keep teaching him about our LORD. I think you are an amazing mom, just keep loving on him.
Blessings,
<><
Thanks Child of God for letting me share this on Eagle Altitude. ☺
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS!
Hi Kerrie,

Hi Child of God,
ReplyDeleteI have been catching up on your posts that I missed the last few days...they are all so good! I love what you said here, Not even Satan can snatch you from the Creator's hands. Thank you Lord!!

Hi Chelle,
ReplyDeleteIt is a reassuring feeling, knowing God is protecting us. Romans 8:38-39 is one of my favorite verses to read when I am down.
