John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
JT is a blogger friend who in the past couple years has become very dear to my heart. His posts are always so deep and profound and I found myself always eager to read what he has to say.
On September 26, JT put up a post about some health issues he was having. JT is fighting cancer...I have a tumor on the part of my brain that controls vision. I also have several other tumors in my brain. I have a cancerous mass on my lung and another tumor in my back. I also have several tumors in my lymph nodes. Taken from JT's post A Personal Note
JT has such an amazing love and faith in God. The knowledge and wisdom he has comes through in all of his posts. His life glorifies God and I just know God is very proud of him.
Please pray for JT and his wife. They have no surviving family and no children but I know they have the love and support of God who is walking through this with them.
Please pray for my recovery and pray for my wife. She is devastated. We have no children. We have outlived the other members of our family. If God calls me home she will not be alone. God will be by her side. Thank you for your prayers. Taken from JT's post A Personal Note
Father, my God. You alone deserve to be worshiped. You are magnificent and awesome. I honour and adore You. I truly want to thank you for creating JT. He has blessed be so much and I have learned a lot from reading his blog posts. I thank You Lord for bringing JT into my online life. Lord, Healer, You know JT's heart and his love for you. You know how he desires to be healed here on earth. Father, I stand in the gap for my brother and ask You to have Your healing hand upon him and remove this cancer from his body. I ask that You say the word for healing in JT. I ask Lord, that the cells in JT's body will only produce good healthy cells and that the cancerous ones will be stopped and put into reverse and become healthy again. I rebuke cancer in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord for walking beside JT and his wife. Lord I ask that Your presence is tangible and that Your hedge of protection is around this beautiful couple. Bless JT's wife Lord and give her comfort and peace. Wrap her in Your arms and hold her tight. Thank You Father for listening. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ my Saviour amen.
Please join your heart with mine in intercession for this dear brother of ours. Thank you!

Child of God,
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking for my opinion concerning this: "I wonder if part of our fear is because we are confined by time," which you left on my blog yesterday. I wrote a short reply yesterday on my blog, but wanted to get back with you on this.
First off, many things can cause fear. What causes me fear and what causes you fear may be different things. For example, some people fear heights, while others are not bothered by it at all. So it would be accurate to say "our shortness of time hear on earth causes fear," at least in some people. We differently do get impatient waiting on answered prayer. This brings to mind Isaiah 40:31:
"But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
When we do not wait, we become anxious, which brings the following passage to mind:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
When we become anxious, worry and fear set in. The Bible says "For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” (Rev 12:12) Because the devil is short on time, he aggressively peruses his goal. I have to wonder if he is fearful that he may fall way short of his goal? He will fight tooth and nail those who oppose his agenda because he does not want to fail. Could it be that we behave similarly? If things go wrong, we may not have time to recover because our time is short. If we feel like God is delaying His answer, we feel as though we are missing out. This could (at least in part) be because our time is short. This could in fact lead to worry and fear.
All this being said, I cannot think of any Bible verse which states that our shortness of time leads to fear. However it could and scripture does plainly say to "wait."
I hope this helps and you would like to discuss this more, just let me know. You can either reply here, or leave a comment on my blog. Also, if you prefer, you can e-mail me directly to my e-mail address kenmickel@gmail.com What ever works best for you is fine with me.
Thank you and God bless,
Ken
Hi Ken,
DeleteWOW! Thank you for a deep reply. :) I will email you later on today with my thoughts.

Child of God,
ReplyDeleteOne more quick thought. Isaiah 40:31. What happens to those who wait upon the Lord? They renew their strength. And in Philippians 4:6-7, what is the result of not being anxious, prayer, supplication and thanksgiving? Peace of God. Now ask, What happens if I do opposite to what God's Word instructs us here?
I am praying with you today for JT and his precious wife.
