HAPPY THANKSGIVING !
It is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and there is nothing I am more thankful for than Jesus Christ and His gift to us.
This past spring, my husband planted 12, 60 ft rows of potatoes. It was supposed to be a youth/young adults endeavor that didn't work out because of time schedules. These past few weeks the family and I have been trying to harvest these potatoes before the snow comes. What I am finding is that the work is time consuming and tough and the workers are very few, which made me think about Matthew 9:37 ..."The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few;".
Our time is running short folks and we need to be those labourers spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and Him risen.
Jesus Christ is coming again soon! Praise GOD!
I'm linking up with Barbie from The Weekend Brew.
Blessings,

Looking forward to Jesus' return with you--and I agree we need to spread the Word! Have a joy-filled Thanksgiving celebration.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
DeleteThe return of Jesus sure is something to look forward to. :)
Thanks for the Thanksgiving blessings.

I've heard that the farm and ranch life is hard work, but some of the most gratifying toiling effort available, because you truly reap what you sow and enjoy the fruits (and vegetables and alfalfa) of your labor. You and the family can be proud of what you accomplished and there is nothing like "home-grown". I picture the beauty of your rural Canadian property from the glimpses of your posted images and think of the blessings of living the mountain country life.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord Jesus commissioned us to go out and spread the "good news" of the gospel. For two thousand years, it has been our commandment, and this is our time and our watch now. This side of heaven, Sin, ignorance of the TRUTH, and unbelief always challenge the light of God, so we must be about our Father's business daily. We can "tend to our taters", know God and make Him know. Praise God!
Hi Brian,
DeleteFarm life is tough and the work is physically taxing but like you said, it is also rewarding and at the end of the day you fall asleep like a baby from the satisfaction of the work and also because of complete exhaustion.
Eating from the fruit of our labour is also very satisfying and makes the meal all that more delicious. In so many ways relating the natural to the spiritual can really drive the point home. When walking a person through the steps of salvation after you have put in the ground work of teaching, the thrill of the moment and the knowledge of just what took place is very fulfilling and satisfying. It make the difficulty of stepping out into a territory that is not easily accepted today all that more easier and sweet.
Thanks for stopping by, blessings brother.

Hi coG,
ReplyDeleteit is amazing how the most ordinary of every day things can remind you of a scripture isn't it. Yes it is vital that we spread the good news. Happy thanksgiving, I can't believe a year has passed so quickly. All the more reason to spread the gospel, time is short.
God bless you
Hi Brenda,
DeleteTime sure is flying by. I believe, just like labour pains growing closer together, things are starting to speed up. Such exciting times we are living in.
Blessings hon,

There is lots to give thanks for especially when you can grow your own food.. No bad pesticides either. Yum.... potato's are one veg I use almost every meal.. we grow ours also.
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal Mary,
DeleteWe try to go without any pesticides, so far we have been blessed without having to use any chemicals to keep the bugs away. :) It makes me feel so much better knowing the veggies we eat are not harmful to our bodies.
Good on you for having your own garden too! More and more people are returning to the dirt to grow their own. :)
Blessings hon,

Catching up a little here and a little there, I simply can't keep up with all my favorite blogs!!! Too much going on!!! One of the things that is going on is that I too will soon be in Canada. We hoped that I would be there by now...long story, but hopefully it won't be much longer. Having a garden sounds wonderful!!! I would love to have fresh potatoes. Also my hubby loves rhubarb so that will have to be there too, and berries to make jams and pies!
ReplyDeleteWhat you said about that verse about there not being enough labourers is so true, and in fact that verse was on my mind today! I believe the Lord is waking us to His work, to spread the word and gather in His people and His lost sheep. Just a little bit longer!
Hi Susan,
DeleteHow sweet you are moving to Canada! Praying your move goes smoothly.
It is great having a garden, a lot of work but it is good work. Many hands makes the work go by swiftly with much joy, same can be said for spreading the Gospel.
Thanks for visiting hon. :)

Where are you, where in Canada? I'll be in Ontario, between two locations; eastern and western.
DeleteHi Susan,
DeleteI'm in British Columbia but I have family in Ontario; such a beautiful province. When you do get a chance you need to drive out near Ottawa, it is very beautiful and historic.
Blessings hon
