Here is the birthday cake we had for Jesus this year. What a party we had!! The family and I celebrated Jesus' 2012 birthday (or somewhere around that) with our favourite people, Grandpa D and Grandma L. Then the next day we had 21 of us, (most of that number being kids) running around, rolling in snow and just loving in Jesus, it was great. Singing happy birthday to Jesus always makes me so very happy yet my heart is filled with tears knowing the real reason He was born.
Jesus, was born to die.
When I ponder what Jesus gave up for us I get blown away and I can not seem to grasp just how much He gave up for us. The enormity of what Jesus left in heaven, His status and position that He gave up for us is something we will never be able to understand until we get there and see it for ourselves. Yet in the giving up of self, He gained so much more, if that is even possible for the Creator of all, yet He did . He gained salvation for us undeserving people. WOW!
I am approaching this New Year, 2013, with a new understanding in Father. A new understanding in spiritual warfare and the intensity of the fight for the bar has been raised. The family and I watched The Hobbit this past week and I must say although it is rated PG I do NOT recommend it to anyone under the age of 17. It is graphic and the intensity of the spiritual war just made my heart race. This is intense.
John 14:6-7
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Please be in prayer for Emily. Her mom is having a really hard time dealing with this new growth that has shown up. Thanks!
Today we are going up the mountain to go skiing. Please pray for us, that none of us become injured. Thanks!
Blessings,
<><

~God bless~ Lisa
Hi Lisa,
DeleteCool!! I wonder how many people have birthday cakes for Jesus. We have been doing this for 20 years, it is so much more fun because it really puts Jesus right at the center of the attention, exactly where He belongs. :)
Blessings,

i too wonder and ponder what God had given up for us and so thankful that He did. Praying for you and your family and Emily's mom
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
DeleteJust thinking about what Jesus gave up is mind boggling, yet I am so thankful He did.
Thanks for the prayers.

Lovely cake, so glad you had a lovely Christmas with the family. God bless Emily with healing and her mum with peace, and you and your family with a safe and lovely ski trip.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteIt was a very blessed day for us as I am sure it was for all believers in Christ.
The skiing was fantastic, the kids and hubby had a blast and me, well let's just say I became extremely terrified. :( The RA in my wrists started acting up and I was so scared I was going to fall down the mountain that I couldn't do it, so I backed up... literally, and went back to the truck and waited 3 hrs for my family to return.
Blessings,
<><
After laughing out loud at your comment I have to admit that I think I'd have done the same. Happy new year to you all.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteIt was a funny situation after the fact but during the moment it was pretty scary for me. :) After discussing this with my husband there is a chance that I may give it another go.
Happy New Year sister,
